I am 37 weeks pregnant with a breech baby (#4). I have been trying numerous techniques to encourage the baby to turn, and I will having an external version on Thursday. If this fails, I am stuck with a C-section, unless I can find an OB skilled at vaginal breech deliveries. Does anybody know of such a doctor?

Have you been to a chiropractor? I know they have a technique that helps to turn breech babies. I may be wrong, but I think I have read in the past that acupuncture or acupressure helps as well, but you would have to research that.

Where are you planning on delivering? You can always call around to local hospitals and ask to speak to a nurse on Labor & Delivery and they will be able to tell you if there are OB's that will deliver breech.

Best of luck!

Absolutely try acupuncture! I know several people whom this has worked for- also my acupuncturist has worked with many moms and has not yet had a baby who didn't turn. Good luck!!

My girlfriend had Dr Chag at Harbor Women's Health in Portsmouth when she had her twins. He told her they would be a vaginal birth, regardless of their position. They were both vertex, and it was a very positive experience for her. I don't know how the practice there has changed since they fired their midwives (long story there) but it might be worth checking out.

There's a great acupuncturist in Norwich, VT named Judith Music.

The chirpractic technique is called the Webster technique.

Good luck!

Hey there,
There is a fantastic chiropractor who specializes in pregnant woman and children in Southern NH. If you haven't had that babe yet, you should really give her a call. She is well trained in Webster tech. and also Bagnell for turning babies. Her success rate is
, and if baby has turned "head-down", it is a good way to keep him/her that way. I really encourage you to try chiropractic before the c/s...even last minute.
