I am hoping a midwife is on here that can answer this for me!<br>
With my DD 7 months ago I had vaginal tearing, all internal, no tearing on the outside at all. And my cervix didnt tear, just vaginal walls. I dont know what "degree" it was but I know they put me to sleep to stitch it and it took them 50 minutes. My question is- I am concerned with having more babies vaginally of having irreparable damage and having damage to my bowels. . etc. . . Is it more likely to have major damage done when you tear on the outside? What is the concern with internal tearing and more births??

I am so happy to see this question. I have been wondering this also. I had an internal tear that made a hematoma the size of a grapefruit. I was told it was a freak accident but it scares me and I really want a homebirth when I get pregnant with #2. That has been stopping me from getting pregnant again.

I had unusual internal tearing that the midwife suggested stitching. I turned it down and let it heal on its own. My second birth I had no tearing at all.<br><br>
