Well, you can wear compression stockings to help prevent it from getting any worse. I bought some for my last pregnancy because my mom has been in lifelong pain from the varicose veins she developed during 4 pregnancies, and I am terrified of getting them myself. Good stockings are expensive, but worth it if you consider them against the price of being in pain forever. (Varicose veins are hereditary in my family--my mom, my grandma, and all my aunts have them

I also propped my legs up above the level of my heart every night to help the blood drain. Try to elevate your legs whenever you can, and never cross them as this can hinder proper blood flow.
