If you can get your hands on "the Bread Machine Magic Book of Helpful Hints" by Linda Rehberg and Lois Conway - I would HIGHLY recommend it. I have made quite a few recipes out of that book. The one I make the most is Heavenly Whole Wheat Bread. This is my version of it:
1 1/4 C water
1 1/4 tsp salt
4 tbsp margarine (I use transfat free - works great)
2 tbsp sugar
2 C whole wheat flour
1 C unbleached white flour
1/4 C instant potato flakes
3 tbsp vital wheat gluten
3 tbsp flax meal
2 tsp yeast (I use Red Star)
optional: for a savory herb bread I add: 1 tsp onion powder, 1/2 tsp dried dill, 1/2 tsp dried basil, 1/2 tsp ground rosemary. I've also added cinnamon and raisins for a sweet bread before. Remember though that I live in the Mile High city, so you'll probably have to play with the ingredients to get it right for your altitude.
