I desperately need new shoes!! I'm looking for a pair of very comfortable vegan sneakers/walking shoes - I want good quality because I walk a lot and am overweight so need comfort! Any suggestions? I've been looking at Earth Shoes:

http://www.earthshoes.ca/earthshoes.ca/w-vegan-1.html

I like the look of Flight and Hippie, though I don't know if they are the best walking shoes? Anyone have experience?

Maybe something like this would be more practical?

http://www.mooshoes.com/invoice_vari...duct_id=383080

But these are shoes to wear everyday so I don't want them to look too 'sneakerie', if that makes sense.

Any other suggestions?

(Yes, they are expensive but seeing I haven't bought new shoes in too many years to admit to I am going to splurge if necessary!)

Thanks!

I can't speak for the Earth shoes, I can't wear them due to some foot problems but I will offer one word of caution. Vegan shoes can be very smelly, depending on what fabric they use, so if that's a concern for you, you may want to choose carefully. I have had MUCH better luck with a canvas based shoe, cotton or hemp, it doesn't matter, than the vinyl or acetate ones. You know, those "fake leather" kind. It becomes even more important if you intend to wear them everyday, as they don't get as much of a chance to air out. If you do want to get the fake leather, you may want to get two pairs, and alternate them out each day so that they have a chance to really dry out and air out. Otherwise....stinky! That's just been my experience. I had a pair of the vegan birkenstocks and those things stank to high heaven after while, since I wore them everyday, and they were "fake leather".

I like ecosneaks. They are made by a company named simpleshoes.com all recycled material. They are very comfortable, but look like they were made in shop class. They do have different styles.

I've actually had pretty good luck with cheap shoes from Payless! I have no problem walking quite a long distance in all-man-made-materials sport sandals from Target, too. For sneakers, I also think a lot of the ones at Target and Payless are all man-made. That said, I cannot attest to the vegan or non-vegan properties of the glues they use and that sort of thing, but I'm not quite as careful about that as I could be. GL!

I've never purchased the adult shoes, but my daughter always get tons of compliments on her Soft Star Shoes. They are pretty expensive, but are handmade in OR and you can get them made specifically for your feet.

I need input on vegan shoes too. I had seen these and they seemed to get good reviews but I didn't know if anyone had tried them.

ETA: My mom has the hippie style shoes and LOVES them!
