DD is 4 months old. Yesterday we were at my aunt's house and went out for ice cream. I had both my dad, my aunt, my sister and my aunt's husband all either tell us to give DD some ice cream or try to give it to her themselves. We had to bat my Dad's hand away, and he was eating coffee ice cream! because that's what she needs at 4 months, milk and caffeine. My aunt even said "I would be having more fun if I could give Morgan some ice cream". You've got the rest of her life to give her ice cream people!!

The worst part - while we were there another extended family came in with a baby who was not yet 3 months (we asked). I went to the bathroom, which was near where they were sitting, and the grandmother was feeding him ice cream (mint chocolate chip). Not just one taste mind you, but giving it to him when I went into the bathroom and still giving it to him when I came out a few mins later. Baby's mom was sitting right there....Poor little guy.
Thank god my family didn't see it or else I never would have heard the end of it.

I just don't get why everyone wants to feed the baby. I don't understand why they all think they need to keep them overnight or take them out without their parents in order to spend time together. I don't understand why anyone cares where the baby sleeps.

I just don't understand. Can you tell I'm gearing up for the invasion for dd's birthday??

Next time tell them they can spoon feed you ice cream, if they are so hell bent on feeding someone.

My mother does this all the time!

You would think after 4 babies, she would get that we don't do this. And when I ask her not to, she acts like *I* am crazy, rigid, mean even.

Good for you for standing your ground! Be prepared, it's going to continue...

my family is really good about not feeding dd anything so we are thankful. We explained that bm is all she needs and when we did introduce foods, we were cautious w/ high allergen foods - that seemed to make sense to them.

My mother was talking about feeding Sydney ice cream since I was PREGNANT. I don't know what is wrong with our parents, but I can sure relate!!!

I feel for you. I have the same problem here.

My MIL fed my almost 4 month old DD cake at a wedding recently and acted SHOCKED when DH yelled at her and took the baby away.

She knows Marlow has some food sensitivities from things in my diet that I've had to eliminate so why would she think it would be ok to give it to her directly??? but this is also the women who told me that my baby should have a full set of teeth by two months so maybe her thinker is broken.
