I'm not in Victoria (moved away about 5 years ago), but my family still is so we visit often. I'd love to know when you guys get together and maybe be able to join you whenever we come visit (poor Austin gets so bored up there with no kids his age to play with). Pm me if you've got your group together!
Right now we plan to be up there April 1-4th if anyone is getting together then.

Have you guys started a playgroup or get together? I am in Sooke, but would come to Victoria if there was something happening. Let me know if I could join in, my dd is 10 months and I really want to get her meeting other kids.

hi there

welcome to victoria!

I have only met one of the mom from this group. Been quite hectic for me returning to Victoria and paperworks, finding family drs, etc.

It would be great to hook up.

Any good time date and places?

where does everyone live?

I live in the core Victoria area...cook/hillside

Hi. Glad there is another (or more?) Victoria mom here.

I'm Janni. I have a four month old girl and a six year old girl. We live in Gordon Head really close to Mt. Doug.

My big girl has swimming on M and W 5-6 and I have post-natal yoga on Thursday 6-7. Besides this, our schedules are open.

Where will you be staying?

My dd who is six loves story time at the Faery Tales Studio in Oak Bay. It is on W and F 10:30 to 11.

She also loves the Cadboro Gyro Park on Sinclair. There are play structures, grass, and the beach. Another good beach and park with play structures for the kidlets (and shade) is Willows Beach.

The Commonwealth Pool has two kid pools, wave machine, and slide. The other Rec Centres are good too, Crystal Pool and Gordon Head. I'm sure there are others, but these are the ones kid tested in our house.

My six year old loves the double-decker buses that are across from the Empress, too.

There is also Beacon Hill Park in the quasi-James Bay area. I've only lived here for the last six weeks... so I might have the exact district wrong.

You can also do a search for island parent. I think the URL is http://www.islandparent.ca/
and check out this month's issue. It lists all sort of activities for the entire summer.

Best

hi JOM's mom.

In Fairfield there is a Family Practise that is supposed to be good. I have heard many good things about it. You need to apply and can online or call them and they will fax you the application. It takes a month on waiting list but they are accepting new patients.

Playgroup... I am not sure about that one. You can check out the community centre in Fairfield Fairfield Community Place if they have drop ins and stuff.

There is a LLL mtg for Central Victoria (mtg in Oak Bay) and Moms gathering in Fernwood. Really nice group. PM me for more info.

Our get together last thursday was REALLY fun ... thank you so much to those of you who came ...hopefully we can grow ourselves to a bigger group with regular thursday get togethers ... however...

This thurs (Aug 5th) I'm cancelling our get together at my home as Sahara and I have a REALLY horrible flu that seems to be contagious LONG after the symptoms have vanished... I'm recommending that everyone meet at Bamfield park instead ... it's a great playground right behind the vic west Y.

Blessings

Jes

ETA PM Tara or Steph if you're interested!
