How do you organize your Video Game stuff?

We have the Wii w/ 4 Wii Remotes, 2 Nunchucks, gamecube controllers, memory cards and at least 15 games. (oh yeah...the silly balance board as well
)

It ends up strewn all across the LR floor every time DS looks for a game. The game cases are getting stepped on, the baby (toddler
is getting them etc.

Ideally I could store them in a way that DS was able to keep them organized. Currently we just shove them in an entertainment cabinet cupboard. So when DS wants to get something out he has to dig around and pull stuff out etc
He is really good about picking up when there is a system in place...but this set up is to chaotic for him to manage. He is 5.5 yo btw

Any ideas and suggestions are welcome. TIA!!!

I have all of our stuff neatly organized inside the cabinet that holds the TV/game systems, and we have a lock (well, some black plastic thing my husband rigged up, but it doesn't look too bad) on the cabinet doors. Only we adults and 7-year-old DS are able to open them, and DS knows to lock it back when he gets whatever he needs. The various Wii equipment is kept in a gallon-size Ziplock bag.

would an over the door shoe holder work? maybe something that had assorted sized pockets, might have to make that one yourself (or find someone to make it for you) The higher pockets would be too high for your son unless he used a stepstool. Could put it on the inside of a closet and maybe even put a higher slide lock on the outside of the door that your son could reach but the baby could not if you wanted to lock them up like a PP said. If you were using a closet, they make those sweater hanger accordian folded looking hangigers that velcro around the rod, the spots in them are a little larger and you could store the bigger stuff in those cubbies. We don't have game systems but with my camera stuff for the computer the cords drive me batty, I use toilet paper tubes to store them in.

Our video game stuff is held in the left cabinet of our tv console/stand. The Wii stands upright on the right side, the 4 remotes and nunchucks are all in a basket in the middle and the games are lined up on the left side of that.

We have two old nightstands that got repurposed as the entertainment center. They're against the wall and pushed together with the tv straddling them, Wii unit to the left, and cable box to the right.

Simple organization:
One drawer for the Wii supplies and games.
One drawer for the tv remote(s), cell phone chargers, and rechargeable batteries.
One drawer for DVDs.
One drawer for the husband's cable collection.

The drawers are weighted so they're hard to open. The toddler didn't manage to open them until recently.

to remedy the cd case issue i suggest a cd book to put the games in the just store the cases in a box in the back of the closet.
we don't have a wii but my sis has one and i hung a coat hook thingy with the shelf above it next to the tv for her, she hangs the controllers and nunchucks on the hooks and then has a small basket for other little accessories in the shelf along with the cd case full of games up there.
other than that, if it hasn't been played with in say 3-4 months we generally trade it into the used game store for a credit, then when a game that we or should i say DH wants is out he has credit there to go get it without having to shell out the cash .

we have a tall dresser type thing, with 5 drawers that we got from target. It is cherry wood with bamboo fronts. Any how, we organize all our dvd's and game stuff in it. The top drawers are smaller and have the movies and the larger two bottom drawers hold the wii remotes, ps3 remotes, and all the games. They are situated so that you can read all the titles, and it helps ds not to throw the cases all over looking.

Before we just put them in our cabinet under our tv but it was a disaster. There was 3 layers of movies mixed with the games and it was impossible to find what you wanted. The controllers were often just put on top of the tv and it looked so messy. This way everything looks neat when they are put away.
