Visiting Peekskill-- fun stuff for 1 yr old?

I'm heading to Peekskill tomorrow (from San Diego) to visit the in-laws and was wondering if there were any good neighborhood parks or attractions for a 14 month old. Dd especially loves being around other kids. I don't think my MIL has good ideas for entertainment, so I thought I'd ask here. She keeps coming up with elaborate plans like driving down to NYC for dinner and then driving back. I don't think so! I just want to keep it simple and fairly local as dd hates the car. Thanks!
