OK.. who here is perfect at taking their vitamins? I know many say you dont even reallllly need them however I take them. I have the Rainbow light 6 a day. i really think i need to switch to the one a day because I just cant take the 6 throughout the day. Im lucky if i get the 2 doses in then i feel like a horrible mommy by the end of the day for missing. AND if i do take adose in the evening I have nightmares...

haha. I am *trying* to do the RL 6 a day as well Notice I said *trying*. lol

I was going to get the one a day, but after comparing them... the 6 a day is just so much better. So I am reallllly trying to get better about taking them.

I do think 4 pills is better than none though. I don't beat myself up about it really.

I'm constantly forgetting. I'm much better at taking them when I can eat, then I Just time them to my meals. But right now I'm having such a hard time consuming any food or liquid that I continually forget to take them. I try to remember to AT LEAST take my calcium every day, though.

I don't take prenatal vitamins and I really never have, but for a few weeks here and there with my first two pregnancies.

I take a b6 for morning sickness and b12 for my stomach, but other than that I just eat well.

My mw said she didn't think prenatals were necessary with a healthy diet, which surprised us, so I've just continued with my two-a-day multi, plus a calcium supp. I got in the habit quite a ways back to take them when I brush my teeth morning and night.

Erm...

I *used* to take a good prenatal vitamin 3x/day until my morning sickness really started kicking my butt.

I now take a folic acid, a calcium/magnesium (mostly for the magnesium) and one of my children's gummy vitamins

While I also believe that's true, I am finding myself NOT having a great diet when I am only capable of eating organic mac and cheese and half a veggie burger in an entire day.

Veggie burger! Omigosh I could totally go for one! I'm having terrible food aversion today, the only thing I want is toast or the breakfast sausage patties my husband bought -- but they're horrible, highly processed and preserved with BHA/BHT and I won't let myself do it.

I like the Yves veggie burgers.
Subway's Veggie Max is made with Morningstar Organic veggie patties. My hub used to work there so he got a free one every day. But I still prefer Quiznos. In fact, I think I could totally go for one today.

I also really like the ones at White Spot. They're all grilled and yum. We went out for dinner there the other day because DH swore I had to try one. I actually ate the whole thing.

Don't really take vitamins, per se. However, I'm pretty good at taking my Precious Mommy tea and Juice Plus. I had to switch to taking the gummies because I can't swallow pills right now... just barf it right up. And that's from a chick who hasn't had morning sickness at ALL like last time... the only time I actually barf or almost is when I was still trying to swallow the Juice Plus pills. anyway... there were a few days I would forget the veggie dose and didn't feel good about that. ARGH

I have Trader Joe's One a day prenatal. I'm almost done with that, and I have a bottle of Nature's Plus liquid prenatal vitamins to take afterwards. I tried taking 6 a day last pregnancy - and failed horribly. If you really like that one, maybe you could take it again after the second or third trimester starts. I'm trying to take DHA oil, but it really makes me break out!

Oh - I also take pregnancy tea (I try for a cup a day). If I feel too sick for vitamins and need to settle my stomach, I like a cold glass of milk or soymilk with chocolate malt ovaltine (which has vitamins in it). It really helps my MS.

I was really good at taking them until my nausea hit and now I cannot even stomach the idea of trying to swallow a pill. I'm not worried about not taking the vits (because I don't really think they're all that important anyway) but I did like taking the flax oil and fish oils.

Our mw actually recommended going off them while I felt so gross, that they partly contribute. I do feel much better since going off them, not perfect, but definitely better.

I was gagging on them too. Eating lunch and having DS asking "Are you Ok Mama, what's wrong" and then having to explain the whole process ( we're homelearners) , hormones to sickness to gag reflex to swallowing pill, really put me over the edge.

I havent had any problems taking my vitamins. I have had days where i've been nausy, but that seems to have no relevance to me having taken the vitamins. Although I've been trying really hard to eat a balanced and nutricious diet, I've also been pretty religious about taking my prenatals since I'm having twins and want to make sure I get enough nutrients for both of them. (I've noticed that it helps to have a separate bottle in which I put all of my vitamins for the day and put it into my purse in case I am not home during my meals). I have been taking Mother-to-be, but as of tomorrow am switching to Perfect Prenatal by New Chapter (certified as all organic and are supposed to be easier to digest and absorb).

I have been taking prenatals for 2years now. My DR. suggested to continue since I was BFing and now pregnant, I need to continue. Lately I don't always take it everyday, but about 5 times a week. I am also taking Nordic Naturals DHA, but just switched to the Fish oil since it was more affordable and had the same amout of DHA in it. That was also recommended by my DR. and not a danger since NN is know for their purity levels in the oil.
