vomiting, anyone?

So, I really would love to have a thread to commiserate together.

I get such bad morning sickness. I feel like such a baby, and there is a very illogical part of me that is sure I'll never feel better.

I'm 8 weeks today. The thought of 4-8 more weeks of this makes me want to cry!

I'm 6 weeks 2 days and today was the worst nausea day so far. Nothing is working. Napping, eating protein, drinking lots of water, etc. NOTHING. I feel like crap.

When did you actually start throwing up after you started feeling nauseous to the point where it interfered with your day? I have no idea how to gauge this. Did you also wake up earlier if you had to work? I am thinking about setting my alarm like 30 mins earlier to give myself time to puke if I need to.

Pregnancy is weird.

This pregnancy, I started vomiting at 5 weeks 5 days. And its been daily since.

This time around, I don't have to work outside the house. I'm a midwife, but just started my own practice so don't have lots of clients (which is a good thing right now).

But with ds, I was working fulltime in an office job. I spent most mornings at work sitting quietly and running to the toilet a few times. It was a good thing I worked for a slacker attorney who didn't usually show up to work until 10:30 or later.

I normally only puke once a day, upon waking. Nothing I do helps it, but afterwards, I am able to eat and keep down breakfast, so THAT is good!

My preceptor gave me a funny look when I told her I had already started up with the nausea and vomitting (it's been going on for 2 weeks and I'm only 5.3 weeks along!) I know that stress has played it's part in it, but it still blows.
I only very rarely actually throw up, but I get multiple 20-30 minute, hard dry heaving sessions a day. I am 8 weeks tomorrow. I am sooo wiped out from feeling sick ALL DAY LONG every single day. I am really not finding anything that helps either. I was taking a half unisom and B6 but it is not really working at this point, so the benefit no longer out weighs the dopeyness. Ginger just gives me horrendous heartburn.
I have a very limited diet, no wheat, no oats, no meat, nothing sweeter than a baked sweet potato.
I am living on steamed veggies, apples, yams, cheddar cheese, walnuts, almonds and pinto beans.
I am just praying this time the ms ends at 12 or 15 weeks (last pg it was the whole 9 months.

I haven't started yet, but I'm expecting it to start sometime in the next two wks. In fact, today I have been feeling particularly nauseous, so it may be starting already. With my prior two pregnancies, the vomiting started at 8 wks and then didn't go away until I gave birth. I definitely sympathize with those of you who are going through this, esp those who get stuck with the n/v for the entire pregnancy.

This is me. I'm 9 weeks tomorrow and I've thrown up maybe 4 or 5 times, but I feel nauseous and awful all the time. I so hope that I feel better in the second tri, after the new year!

I'm 10 wks today and still barf at least once a day. It started about 6 wks. It has no rhyme or reason though so I can't say that it's normally morning or night-it's just random. I gag all the time though! Very annoying!
It's not any one food either, though cheese has been a bad thing the last few days.
I will be 10 weeks tomorrow and I have vomited twice so far, but spend most of the day nauseated. It started at 5.5 weeks for me. With DD it lasted until 18 weeks, that sounds like forever right now, but of course would beat being sick until July!

Today has been an ok day. Still woke up and puked, but I felt much better than yesterday. A friend of mine brought over dinner. That was so lovely, such a gift!

But, after today, I am sort of hopeful that maybe it's getting better????? Only time will tell.

I have a meeting this Friday that I really want to make, but I'd have to leave my house around 8:45 am. And on monday, another meeting that I'd have to leave by 9 for. It sounds pathetic, but most days I never change out of my pjs, and if I do, it isn't until 3 or 4 pm, so waking up and being functional that early in the morning will be a real feat for me!!!

Bleh, count me in, on this one. Lately I had been throwing up the first thing I eat every morning. Then I feel nauseous pretty much the rest of the day. This is my first pregnancy, and I am really not enjoying it at all. I can't even fathom being this sick the whole nine months.
I'm just randomly nauseous. I may feel it a bit in the morning but I dart off to work so quick and eat in the car. By the time I'm at work I guess I'm too busy to notice. But, at night when I am home resting I feel lousy at times. I've probably vomited like eight times, but they've all been at night when I was going to bed.

I'm glad I'm not the only one! My two older boys have been up at night throwing up too, so the thought of getting dressed and having to be somewhere has sounded like one of the worst levels of hell for me. Days I have clinic and teach birth classes are usually my favorites, but being a slug at home in an old band tee-shirt and scrubs has been so much more appealing lately.

Thanks

I guess I was in a very rotten mood when I posted last...

But no, pregnancy is not my favourite thing, to put it mildly...

I haven't vomited yet, but have come very very close the last 2 mornings. It is typical for my m/s to set in right about 6 weeks, which is where I am now. I'm expecting to feel worse and worse for a few more weeks, when it will begin to stabilize at a horrible, all day/all night nausea. Typically I don't vomit every day, but at least a couple of times a week.

to all the mamas suffering through this. It will all be worth it.

Has anyone noticed that their nausea can be somewhat mitigated by what they eat? I've been REALLY nauseous the past few days (almost threw up in a trash can at work yesterday), and the only thing that has helped has been to just keep eating. Healthy stuff seems to make me feel better than unhealthy stuff, not surprisingly.

Like this morning, I felt okay until I had my morning yogurt, then I was like OMG gonna puke. So I ate some black bean soup, and felt better, but still pukey, so then I had an apple. Now I feel fine. It seems to me that morning sickness (so far, and for me) has so much to do with eating a hearty breakfast (with protein and calcium) and eating again when I get nauseous later in the day. I'm used to eating no breakfast whatsoever, so this has been a big change for me. I'm also not used to having to eat when I feel like puking everywhere, but so far it has helped.

What does everyone else think? Am I just kidding myself and a week from now I'll be puking everywhere regardless of what/how often I eat? This is my first time doing this so I'd like to know! My mom had bad nausea with me but she described it as "As soon as I put my feet on the floor in the morning, I ran in the bathroom to puke." I don't have that, I have nausea when I eat something, but don't eat enough of it, or enough in general. I feel okay when I get out of bed in the morning.

Ideas?

Got my first wave of nausea last night, and this morning I threw up while riding the bus. Luckily I had packed a plastic bag just in case, but it was still not fun at all. I felt better immediately afterward, then through the rest of the day I've alternated between hungry and mildly gross, but not pukey, with a couple of instances of feeling just fine. Eating does seem to help so far, even when I don't feel like eating. And food still smells really good, so that is helpful. I just have to make it through finals. Then I can laze about over Christmas break.
Ugg... I'd been doing so well with having an egg, a piece of toast, and a glass of milk for breakfast every day. Today, right after taking the prenatal and DHA supplement, I ran to the bathroom and puked everything up. I got to work two hours late because I couldn't bring myself to drive, and I still feel like crap. I'm munching on saltines and I just can't concentrate. Every food idea makes me want to puke again. So I'm sitting here, just concentrating on not puking.
