I cannot get to my site right now at all, and it is hosted through WAHMShoppes. I can get to the main page but that's it. And, I can't even get in to work on it. Is anyone else having this problem?

Does anyone have the info to get to their boards so I can get help?

Thanks!

Here is the forum: http://wahmservices.com/community/fhome.asp

My site is working fine. Do not expect quick help, I've never gotten it from Tony. Someone else once helped me quickly on a problem, but on a question that only Tony can answer expect to wait ooooooh, about a week. Yes, I'm being down on him. I know others have had good communication with him, but he was very rude to me.

Sorry to butt in, but I'm really starting to feel....well, taken. I signed up last week for hosting with wahmshoppes and was sent an email saying that my domain name was registered. Stupid me, I should have registered it myself and THEN signed up with wahmshoppes, but I wanted to do everything in one place. Now, it's been a week and I haven't received an email to set up my site, my domain name isn't registered, and I'm frustrated.

I wonder if I could cancel hosting with wahmshoppes and go with someone else???

Hun, I don't know. You could actually go through paypal (assuming you paid with paypal, that is) and do a never received service complaint. Ok, I love the wahmshops site, set-up and all the great stuff you get for $7 a month, BUT I think it would be wise for him to hire help, raise the price to $10 a month and then he can provide better customer service. I would be more than willing to pay another $3 a month so that he can provide me with better service when I need help.

Oops, I forgot to come back here and read any replies!

Thanks, wemoon and Jen, for your advice. I have to admit, I'm very annoyed with the service (or lack thereof) that I've received so far with Tony. Right now, I've installed my store and it isn't working -- it's saying "page not found". I ended up having to register my own domain name, so I just ate that $10 that I paid Tony to register it.

Is there another hosting provider that has similar options to WAHMshoppes out there? Something fairly user friendly, with good customer service, built in estore, that's relatively inexpensive? <huge sigh>

If it helps at all, I have my domain registered and hosted through godaddy.com, it was more expensive but they can be reached, by telephone!!
I have my webstore set up with wahmservices and have not had any problems with just getting the store through them. That might be an option for you.

Thanks, Jessica.

That's sorta what I have going right now -- I initially signed up for my domain name & hosting through Wahmshoppes, but it took, IMO, too long for him to register my domain name. I checked GoDaddy and my domain name was still available and I wasn't getting any response from Wahmshoppes, so I went ahead and registered the domain name there. Not even 24 hours later, I received an email activating my account at Wahmshoppes, but no mention of a refund of my money towards registering the domain name.

So now, I am paid up for a month of hosting at Wahmshoppes, but am searching elsewhere (unless I can be convinced otherwise :LOL).

I am just so new to this and don't want to get taken, y'know? And I'm kinda stupid because I could ask for DH's help with all of this, but I want to prove myself that I can do this on my own.

Hi Tia,

Do you know if wahmshoppes servers are pointing to your domain? You need to find out the nameservers for your site and then go to your account at godaddy. Log in, go to manage domains, and then to nameservers (I think). You then enter wahmshoppes nameservers in the spaces provided.

I'm going to fourth or fifth Go Daddy for domain registrations. I use them for my own domains and have never had any problems.

Adding your nameservers is easy as well. Go to Go Daddy, click Domain Names, Manage My Domains, login and then click Manage Domains. Select the domain you wish to edit by checkmarking the box next to it, then click Set Nameservers.

Thanks, you guys. I was hooked up with the nameservers this afternoon and fixed my problem.

Now, just waiting until the change takes effect.
