I would love suggestions for my dd's April birthday. We may have her party on Easter Sunday since her bday is really close. She wants a "princess" party. Any creative ideas of how I can mesh princesses, Waldorf, and Easter? Lol TIA!

There are kits where you can dye Easter eggs gold. The princess in the Frog Prince fairy tale has a golden ball she loses in the frog pond.

Other ideas would be flower crowns or pointy princess hats with scarfs out the top. Fairy wands are easy to make.

A quest for the young princesses in the form of a scavenger hunt might be fun. Picture clues instead of messages could be used.

I love those ideas!! Do you know where I can get the gold egg dyeing kit? I think I will make her a pointy hat for a gift....what should I make the hat part out of and how do I make it stay in place good for many times of play?

Use flexible cardboard for the hat and don't make it super tall! Getting it to stay on is tricky. Try elastic under the chin? Real princesses wore their hats attached to scarf stuff that wrapped around the head and under the chin, but they didn't have much fun.

psst! As a former member of the SCA, I can tell you that real princesses didn't wear pointy hats. It is a Hollywood thing.

Easter is coming up so egg dying kits are everywhere. You could probably do a Google search too.

I found this website while researching party ideas and it has parent-submitted descriptions of parties organized by theme. So here's the princess theme: http://www.birthdaypartyideas.com/html/princess.html You could probably sift some ideas out. Are you sure, though, that enough people will be able to attend on Easter?
we played 'musical lilypads' at my house a few weeks ago when my dd turned 3. I cut out large lilypad shapes from green foam(but you could use posterboard) and instead of musical chairs, it was musical lilypads.

and we did pin the horn on the unicorn. I can send you the unicorn freee for shipping if you like. My best friend is an artist and she drew a unicorn head on a large posterboard. I cut out a few foam horns. then we tacked it to the wall with a piece of corkboard under the head part, but it was also sticking out around the corner in case they missed. We used silks for a blindfold.

you could dye silks for a craft with koolaid

we strung glass beads for a necklace

we also bobbed for plastic tub frogs ;-)

if you had a large cardboard ox you could make a castle, have the kids color it

you could do balloon toss over a moat(a blue silk)

wish you all could have come!!

the best part to me was.....my dh did something similar for our older's son's 2nd b-day(we blew up 60+ balloons and made a maze of paper streamers on the ceiling, and filled the maze with balloons, he rigged it so you had to pull one streamer and all the balloons would fall)
so for dd we were going to use the large canopy silks, but instead I splurged and bought a parachute, I've always wanted one, lol(I used to have a homedaycare and now it will be great for get-togethers and all parties) so he rigged it to the ceiling and we filled it with balloons(we used a bicycle air pump to fill the balloons)
so this was the best part, towards the end, we played with the balloons, filled the parachute and bounced the balloons, it was pure fun
