I can't describe why I want a multiracial family, other than that I love the diversity of America and I wish multiracial families were more accepted and common. I am a history teacher too, so I am obsessed with history and culture.

Anyone else feel drawn to multiracial families for reasons they can or cannot explain?

I feel the same way. I have always wanted a multi-racial family! We are currently adopting from Guatemala and we are talking about adopting from Africa in the future. I think that mult-racial families are beautiful! I don't know why I feel drawn to that, but maybe it's just because that's God's will for my life. I can't wait to see what the future holds.

Yup! And we are well on our way. DS is eurasian and dd is asian and dh and I are white. We hope our next babies will come from Guatemala or Ethiopia or transracial domestic adoption. We shall see. We want our family to look like the UN delegation Seriously though, I just want to add that there is nothing wrong with wanting your children to be of the same race as you, everybody has to do what feels right to them. We have just never cared whether our kids look like us. If they turn out to be republicans though, then there'll be TROUBLE!

We are also a multiracial family. You can see our picture at my blog link below.
We didn't start out looking to be a multiracial family, it just kinda happened.
I think it great that families are looking to adopt outside their race or culture.
