OMG! I bought a curly haired plush lamb chew toy for Ralphie the dachshund yesterday. We werent out of the parking lot before he had ripped the squeaker out. This I expected. What I didn't expect was the squeaker.
It was in a plastic bag(think cellophane sandwich bag) with a rubber band. Then, the squeaker is wrapped in foam. Then the squeaker is made of really hard plastic with small pieces of bendable metal at each end.
It is like a giant What Not To Do!
I am goin to email petsmart and ask for my money, but dont buy one of these.

yes, luckily my observant 4 yo noticed it and said, "mom what is that?" before the dog had gotten into it.
Ralphie was soo upset that I had to take the squeaker away before he got to properly kill it though!! That is like throwing out the cereal before you get the prize!
Petsmart emailed back and is passing the info on to quality control, and I can return it for my money back

Wow--glad you discovered this in time.

I just bought our dog a "Tuffies" toy and I'm really impressed with it. He usually shreds a stuffed toy in a matter of minutes, but he's had this one for two days and it's still completely intact. They're expensive, but if it's going to last, it'll be worth it. Their website is http://www.mydogtoy.com/ but I got his at our local feed store.
