Okay, call me dumb, but I am freaking out!<br><br>
I am watching my calories and fat really carefully and have been a little too careful. My dh hounded me all day today about how I absolutely have to eat my minimum calories or I won't lose any weight, so I told him I would relax a little. After dinner I had plenty of calorie room for desert when, low and behold, a friend stopped by and dropped off a Marie Callender apple pie. I'm not that into pie but it was an okay desert and I was trying to make my husband happy so I had a couple of little slices.<br><br>
Okay, we cut the pie into 8 little peices and apparently it is supposed to cut five ways. When you do 8, one piece is too small, so you end up eating 2. I came up to the computer to enter my calories and I find out that<br><br>
MARIE CALLENDER'S APPLE PIE HAS 863 CALORIES A SLICE! AND 49g OF FAT!<br><br>
HOLY CRAP!!!<br><br>
I feel so stupid! I have only been eating two of those slices worth of calories in a DAY!<br><br>

Oh, I know! Processed foods have soo much freaking bad stuff. I'm glad DH has decided to eat healthy with me. One of his (former) favorite meals? Hungry Man frozen dinners. Wanna know what's in his favorite one, the XXL Backyard BBQ?<br><br>
Calories: 1,160<br>
Total Fat: 48g (74% DV)<br>
Saturated Fat: 18g (90% DV)<br>
Sodium: 3290mg <b>(137% DV)!!!</b>

Hmm, you got me thinking, so I just checked the starbucks chocolate chip cookie that I sometimes get as a treat. 530 calories. OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's more than 1/3 of my daily allowance!

but you know what i bet? you will be super surprised STILL that you will lose weight because one day doesn't throw off a whole week. i (sadly) have been here and back several times and sometimes i have lost this weight by actually journaling calories and things and the weeks that i was SURE i blew it by a flub like 1700 calories of pie were the best ever. have faith. and next time marie comes a knockin' just yell, "we don't want any!!"<img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/lol.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="lol"> otherwise you are me, talking about losing the SAME pounds....<img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/irked.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="irked">:

Where did you find the nutritional info? Yeah, unfortunately the website wasn't any help. I guess for some reason they don't want to advertise their foods "nutritional" facts. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/smile.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="smile"><br><br>
I just did a yahoo search and I found like 5 websites or so with the info. I guess you have to request it from the company. Got somethin to hide MC? lol

Marie Calenders is evil. I used to love the pot pies. Speaking of pie of death. . . . starbucks is also especialy bad. I used to get this frozen mostly ice thing. almost 1000 calories!! in my drink!<br><br>
I always try to check the callories of anything i didn't make. It would blow you away how many calories some things have. I kept track of all my calories for 2 months. this was enough time to see where they were sneaking in and ambushing me. thats what weeded out my pot pies. i might as well have been eating a bag of chips ahoy.

The worst thing you can do is beat yourself up over one day. Honestly I think the most it will effect you is maybe slow down any weight loss for this week, if even that. It's when you eat something like that every day or second day that is detrimental.
