I have developed KIDNEY STONES!! I'd been having excruciating pain on my left side that's been coming and going for three days (but never lasting very long) and finally last night we decided it was weird and I had to be seen. I kind of expected that I had a urinary tract/kidney infection or something, but I had no other signs of infection. So there's blood in my urine and all signs point to kidney stones, which I can do nothing about, really (although they gave me a prescription for MORPHINE! as if) so now I'm home hoping these attacks don't continue, I honestly don't know how I would cope in labour WITH horrible kidney pain. DH and I were both like "wow, we're in the home stretch with no pregnancy drama or complications at all, OF COURSE this had to happen!!" But I am grateful that the boy is fine and it's nothing more serious. The wee one really didn't like the fetal monitor they strapped me to, he was moving wildly the whole time (although it was during his party hour, about 11pm) and I ended up taking it off to go pee and didn't put it back on (didn't see the point). Anyway, that was my Thursday, still waiting on labour day, sitting between my two due dates....I really hope this doesn't complicate the birth!

I was hospitalized with a stone a few weeks ago- they think I passed it while I was in there. So I feel your pain!! If you are still peeing a lot and having twingey pain in your bladder, go back and make them do a culture, because I recently developed a UTI, no idea if it's related to having had the stone a few weeks ago but it was NO FUN and it took me a while to go to the doc because I thought it was just more crap from the kidney stone.

Drink TONS of water and take good care of yourself, mama! *hugs*

Oh no, what terrible timing. I'm so sorry. I've never had a kidney stone, thankfully, but I've heard they are really horrible. My mum is going through an attack just now and she's usually super tough woman, but she was taken in an ambulance screaming in pain - I've never in my life seen her do that. I've seen her run over her foot with a lawnmower and be covered in blood and not even shed a tear, just clean it up matter of fact. So I am now utterly terrified of kidney stones, they obviously hurt a heck of a lot. And to be dealing with that on top of being 9 months pregnant? Wow. I'm so sorry. I hope relief comes for you soon.

Oh my gosh, that SUCKS. I am so glad the baby is okay, but what ridiculously horrible timing. I really hope your birth proceeds normally and the stones don't cause any issues.

What awful timing! I hope it doesn't turn into a big deal especially not during labor.

I am so sorry to hear!! I brought my mom to the ER once for stones, she passed one there but the XRAY showed she had more. I started her on gravel root tincture and they all naturally dissolved and passed painlessly and Xray clear by 4 months time. Herb Pharm makes a good one. Not sure if contraindicated with breastfeeding but something to put in the back of your mind should you need it in the futrure. Hope all is well!!

Thanks for the sympathy, mamas, it means a lot to me! I went to a homeopathic pharmacy near my home and they gave me a mixture to help with the pain and help dissolve the stones and so far today, no attacks (knock wood!) FSG, it IS really excruciating, moreso than labor, from what I recall of it. I'm hopeful it won't flare up before the birth, which I hope is imminent itself...
