I have a stash of 30 size 0 Kissaluvs and a collection of Bummis Super Whisper Wraps and Imse Vimse Bumpy Covers.

WHY is it so complicated to find decent washing instructions online?

I have searched and searched and everything is so vague.

Can you guys help me with these questions?

1. Can I wash the dipes together with the covers?
2. Is Bio-O-Kleen Premium Plus an OK detergent to use?
3. If I were to make cloth wipes later can I wash them together also?

I have prewashed the kissaluvs with the biokleen....but the diaper covers have weird instructions and now I'm worried about the whole thing.

Please advices, mamas!!

I too am looking for wash instructions. So i can't helpp you there, but i know with our covers (we've been using a service, so i didn't wash diapers, just the covers) there were specific washing instructions. I would rinse the poopy ones, then just wash in ecover (what we use for DS) with his clothes, and hang to dry (we use bummis)

But from what I've been reading about washing diapers you're supposed to use a commercial detergent- looking in to an alternative though, sure there's some out there!

about the cloth wipes- i'm sure you could wash them with the diapers- they would be cotton too!
1. Can I wash the dipes together with the covers? Yes

2. Is Bio-O-Kleen Premium Plus an OK detergent to use? Try it. If it gives you trouble (stink, covers wicking), switch. The Bummis company says some versions of biokleen cause problems, but they don't say which versions. But the premium plus has both grapeseed and orange extracts (oils) and enzymes (some babies' skin gets attacked by enzymes). Then again, some people use just about anything, including biokleen, with no problems. It may be fine for you. If you're looking for a non-commercial (more natural) detergent, can you get Country Save? Charlie's? They are both sold at natural foods stores and are both usually cheaper than Biokleen anyway.

3. If I were to make cloth wipes later can I wash them together also? Absolutely.
Here are some washing instructions from Kissaluvs:
http://www.kissaluvs.com/diapercare....ing%20routine:

You can certainly wash them together. My wash routine is very basic.

I do a cold rinse, with no detergent. Then a hot wash with about 2 tablespoons of detergent with no bleach and no fabric softeners. Then the regular cold rinse, and an extra cold rinse. I pop the diapers in the dryer usually for one cycle, and hang if there are any that need additional dry time.

Good luck!

aren't I.M. bumpy covers wool?

yes, the kissaluvs and BSWW and wipes can be washed/dryed together. I do a dry pail. For a wash routine I do the following.- cold rinse, hot wash with detergent - I use 1/4 -1/2 a cup. when I use less the diapers stink. others here use a tsp or so of detergent. then another full hot wash with no detergent. toss in dryer.
