Hi there, I am almost 3 weeks postpartum and getting really chafed from wearing disposable pads, what with all the sitting around breastfeeding :) So it just occurred to me to dust off my cloth menstrual pads that I was using years ago, so much more comfy! And now I'm reading that you can use the dry pail method with those too, rather than soaking. What I'm wondering is, is it a good idea to wash them with baby's diapers? I don't really see why not, just wondering what others are doing...

thanks, Natalie

That is what I do. I toss them in with the diapers.

I find they do stain some, but that doesn't bother me at all. If I soak them for a few minutes in ice cold water first, then squeeze them out and add them to the diaper pail, it helps with the staining.

Thanks, I don'T care about stains either. My poor nether parts are feeling better already, I'm wondering why I put them away in the first place! I think it had something to do with going to college and having roommates and feeling self-conscious about them.

cheers, Natalie
