1) Can I wash and dry prefolds, PUL pockets, PUL wraps/covers and AIOs together?

2) Would you use the same wash routine on all those types of diapers? (i.e. same temp/soak time/# of rinses, etc)

2) Can I use the same detergent on all of those types of diapers?

3) Anyone use Planet detergent? Anyone had any issues with it or heard of any issues? I just like the fact that I can buy it at Whole Foods instead of ordering online.

Thank you!

I wash everything together. I have FBs, Motherease Sandy diapers, mother ease covers, PFs, and a few other odd balls. I try to dry all the covers on a drying rack to conserve energy. I use dreft and have had no issues with build up or anything.

Oh, cool, I came on MDC just to search for a thread like this one, got distracted for a couple hours, and then someone posted it. Too cool.

If you have a high efficiency washer, I'd recommend washing prefolds in their own load. They suck up a lot of the water in a HE wash. If you're using a standard washer, though, it would probably be fine to wash them all together.

Never heard of it, but I know what you mean! I am just trying out a new detergent, my old one had enzymes.

I have a front load washer and I was everything together. I have prefolds, BSWW, Thirsties wrap, fleece wraps, hemp fitteds, cotton fleece contours, hemp AIO's, and flannel AIO's. Everything gets washed in one cycle. Never had a problem.

I do not use Planet on my diapers. I couldn't figure out the correct amount of detergent to use. So, I use it on clothes and use something else on dipes. But I have heard of others who use Planet with no trouble.

Thanks for the responses. I guess I can always try Planet and see if it works for mine (mine washer is an top loader). One more silly question. Can you wash brand new diapers with other diapers? Do the new ones have anything in them that would be bad for the others if they were washed together?

You can wash all of it together. My only complaint is the velcro on my BSWW and my BG's will come undone from the laundry tabs and snag some of my other stuff.

Keep it simple! Wash it all together.

Cold rinse, and then a hot wash/cold rinse cycle.

People have differing opinions on detergents. Use what works for you. Just don't use detergents with fabric softener, like Dreft and most manufacturers say no free & clears.

Also, if you have hemp inserts...these need to be washed and dried at least 3 times before you use them to "prep" them for their full absorbancy.
