Ladies,

Would you be so kind as to share your best tips for getting stains and odours out of cloth pads?

TIA!

I wash mine, often with the diapers, in warm to hot water with just a little detergent. I haven't had an odor problem with them but if I did I'd do a soapless wash in hot water to see if they were retaining soap. If not I'd add a few drops of tea tree oil to the next wash to see if that helps.

As for stains, I'm not fussy. No one ever sees them but me. I soak them in a container of cold water until washday, changing out the water once a day. Some of my pads are stained - the velour ones seem to be the most impervious to stains while the cotton are the most easily stained - but it doesn't bother me.

You can try sunning them. Don't put the stained ones in the dryer after washing, lay them out in direct sunlight for several hours. That should help.
