ok the water bottle for my guinea pig and bunny (they live together
) gets some gren moldy stuff on the bottom when the bottle is going empty. other than cleaning it everytime i change the water, which i do, is there anything i do to stop this? is it because their bottle is too big (its a 16 oz bottle, usually takes 2 days or a little more to empty it).

You dont want to go adding stuff to their water, so Id suggest moving the cage away from excessive light sources (like a window) or covering the part where the bottle is, since algae needs light to grow. Or, do more frequent cleaning and rinsing of the bottle.

see that makes sense, theyre right in front of the window
i'll try covering it, i dont think we have anywhere away from a window that the cage could go

Do you scrub the inside when you wash it? I use a cheap baby bottle brush to clean ours and it hasnt gotten any green stuff yet. Ours is a 16 oz. bottle and it is for my rabbit, Kahlua.
