I'm with Kate~Mom!

I have a tiny bottle that fits in the back of my shirt and if I need more than that I stash them the night before. I actually put coconut water bottles in trees along the way. That way I am sure nothing got into them.

I have been known to stop in a bar or two and beg for water though.
I live in a beachy area and they are open on weekends during the day.

I don't think the camel back would be great for running. I don't even really like it on the bike. It can make you really hot.

I have one of the women's only fanny pack-type water bottles from Ultimate Direction and it's really comfortable. I can't run comfortably with a Camelback, though I don't mind them when biking.

Another option might be to get one of those water bottles with a mesh pocket to help you hold them while you run.

Today's run was in 2 mile loops past the car and I stopped a couple of times so similar to stashing. I have been wondering about a fuel belt but I am not sure about comfort for me.

I have the top one on this link. I haven't had any true concerns about it, but make sure that the lids are snapped tight or the water will bounce out while you run (had an icicle running down my leg during a long winter run
). It's velcro so you can tighten it as much as you want and you can add more clips to it to add more bottles. It helps me to remember my core while I'm runnign actually...

I run with a camelbak for anything over 8. Well, assuming I'm running by myself and not pushing DS in the jogger (in which case, I just put water and/or gu20 in the stroller). I have a women's specific design (the dream, I think) and I've been pretty happy with it. I thought I would HATE running with a camelbak, but it's really not bad. It's designed to allow some airflow underneath, it's pretty lightweight, and has a few small pockets for things like cell phone, gels/shotbloks/etc, keys.

In another lifetime, I ran 4 marathons. I have the hip pack camelback and the backpack camelback and I can't imagine getting through a long run without one of the two.

I made this investment, fyi, after running out of water on a 20-miler. I finally made it to a gas station with a mile left in my run and in my runner's insanity + dehydrated state, I bought chocolate milk (?????) which I promptly threw up. I decided then that I would never run out of water again.

I personally hated the fuel belt, ironically. I guess it really just depends on what you're comfortable with.

Oh, that's awful! And I'm so sorry, but I laughed out loud when I read it.
It's like in Anchorman when Will Ferrell's character is stumbling down the street drinking out of a carton of milk on a hot day and says, "Milk was a bad choice."

Ooh, yuck. Chocolate milk is a great recovery drink, but probably not-so-much on the mid-run fueling.
