Ok, I did a search, but I didn't find anything, so I will ask my embarrasing question..
I am about 7 and a half weeks pregnant, and when I go to the bathroom, I have been having a lot of mucus and a little blood when I have bowel movements, and sometimes even when I don't. It's definitly coming from "that area" rather than the vagina. Is this normal? It's starting to worry me.

Hmmm, perhaps your bowels are slowing down? What you describe has happened to me, but not so much or so consistently to really notice a pattern and I dont really remember when in pregnancy, but if it continues for more than a few days, maybe you should consult your OB or Midwife or a practitioner.

Try eating some more fiber -- which may help -- in general, your system really starts to slow around this time in your pregnancy, so prunes, prune juice, black cherry juice are all things you need to start incorporating into your diet.

May be probs due to constipation? I was so constipated the first trimester, it was miserable. Maybe eat some prunes! Seriously it was the only thing that helped me, as you aren't supposed to take laxatives. If you're constipated and everything is harder, seems that could cause owie irritation etc...
I hope you feel better!!!

I feel pretty constipated too. I had a problem w/ hemmorhoids several months ago, so I think they might be flaring up again now that I'm pregnant. I have noticed a little blood and a little mucous too (so you're not crazy)....but I would definitely talk to OB/Midwife if the problem seems to be getting worse.
