I use them for when I pour off fat/grease from pans. They're compostable here, so they go in the green garbage once the fat has cooled.

I plan on getting a composter. I didn't realize they were compostable though.

Planting seedlings. Kids crafts. We make little houses out of them sometimes.

Campfire starters; Cut them into strips along the fold lines. Roll them lengthwise tightly. Tie near one end with cotton string (or any natural fiber- hemp, linen...) Cut a bunch of slits into the other end and fan them out so it's like a little brush.

When you want to start a camp fire, you light the bushy end and put it under your firewood. The wax in the paper helps it burn slower and hotter so your wood can catch fire. I'll use several to get a nice campfire going.

They are, the grease isn't in a home composter - but for the county-wide compost program, they take everything including animal products.

If you have a LOT, rinse out, let dry, and stuff them with other recycled paper, then tape down the ends to make sturdy blocks for kids. Use them for projects like building a playhouse or this homemade balance beam:

Recycle as they break down.

ETA I also use them as freezer containers, sometimes. I will freeze stoup stock in them or grate up zucchini in portions for our fave muffin recipe, cut a clean milk carton down to the right size, and tape it shut. They stack well in the freezer.
