I begged DH to let me find out this time, and he said "sure, whatever, we'll know sooner or later"

yay!!!! Now I am VERY excited to get an ultrasound. Of course, now since I'm having a home birth with a midwife, I'm having a hard time finding somebody that will give me a u/s!
:

I just want to know that the baby is healthy, where the placenta is and if it's a boy or a girl! Can I get that info from the places that do the 4D ultrasounds?

Yay! I think you can get that info from the 4-D ones, but not sure. That said there are people who do u/s privately (not through a hospital) and they are usually much cheaper than a u/s through a medical office. Your MW should know of someone, I would think.

Mine recommended a private u/s (although I am going with the medical one since insurance will cover it) and she said the guy would do the normal 20 week measurements and tell gender. He is a certified u/s tech, just works for himself not a hospital.

But I imagine the 4-D "womb peek" places can see gender too, although I believe they are not allowed to do any of the medical measurements or diagnosing of any kind.

Good luck!
