I am 33 weeks now, due right near Christmas. I just need to hang in there until 36 weeks. Ideally I won't go into labor until 37 wks, but my MW will attend me at home at 36wks. Babe #1 was preterm, so that is always a big concern of mine. Once I cross that "term" threshold, I am so happy and relaxed.

So my point is, hey, I'll bet a lot of you are already at term!!! Not due date yet, but ok to go into labor at any moment!

I am so excited to see who will have their little one first!!!!

7 more days till 37 weeks here!

I'm doing some real fast talking to this sprout to stay in there. I'm pretty desperate...to reach 37 weeks.

It's funny, lots of mainstreamers are like "OMG I want to get done SOOOO Soon" me I'm like "Stay in stay in, a trip down island isn't my idea of fun kiddo. Please stay in 7 more days please please" (read the Full moon thread for the whole desperation)

My 2nd was a 35 weeker. I always breathe a sign of relief when I can make it to 36 now. I did have pre-term labor with #3, but she finally stopped, and after bed rest for 2 weeks, I thought I would have her immediately, like #2, but she didn't come until her due date.

Usually by 39 weeks though, I am crying to have him/her out! :

I totally agree. I hate it when I am talking to someone about how she is kicking and squirming and they say something about how she is trying to get out, or is saying "Let me out of here!" Or something like that. : That really irritates me. The worst is that my g/f is one who says things like that ALL THE TIME even after having had TWO preemies both of whom had extended NICU stays. She of all people should understand wanting the baby to stay in!!!!

Stay in, babies!!!

I know what you mean Pandora... I'm ready for the pregnancy to be done, but I'm so busy and the baby is so portable right now - LOL - I would not mind carrying her around like this for a bit longer.

I feel like a jerk complaining too... I've had a pretty easy pregnancy. A little uncomfortable at times but really not painful or anything. I'm not in a tremendous hurry, yet.

I am now full term! Woo hoo! My mw would also have attended me at home at 36 weeks, but now I can lawfully have a homebirth.

I'm not ready for the baby to come out yet. I need to make a belly cast and go to my friend's baby blessing. Maybe after these things I'll feel ready. I also needed to take my gorilla-obsessed dd to the zoo, but I did that today. My birth supplies are all ready, so that's a relief.

I'm 37 weeks tomorrow and really feel excited about it being less than a month or so away. Being due Dec 1st kind of means maybe Nov maybe Dec so because it's already Nov I can be excited, right? I had my other two babes after 39 weeks so I still think I will go a bit longer, although after checking my cervix last night I'm encouraged. I'm fine with baby staying in, it's not that much longer.

I too am so excited to wake up one morning and see someone has posted "Baby is here!" on our DDC. I want to start saying CONGRATS!!!

For me it had nothing to do with portability or ease of life or convinience. It has everything to do with the fact that both my midwives, AND the local hospital here doesn't deliver anyone under 37 weeks. They send them an hour and a half away to the hospital that has an NICU....

Not my idea of fun thanks...being stuffed in a Cormerant helicopter (because of my preciptious labours so they say) and flown off without my midwife, without my husband, without my doula, and without my older child to birth in a cold stranger filled environment and possibly undergoing some severe PTSD episodes and being locked away in the Mental ward while my newborn is a ward of the hospital until my husband can come down and pick him up.

Doens't sound like alot of fun to me. So I'll just keep the babe in for FIVE more days *happy dance* and be happy to be done anytime after that.

Me too, me too! As of tomorrow I can offically have my homebirth since I will be 37 weeks! People keep trying to tell me that since this is my first I won't really have him until after my due date, but I just feel good knowing that he can really come anytime now and it's ok. Dh is a little freaked out by the possibility that the baby could come any day but I am so ready. I have loved being pregnant, but I am getting so excited to finally meet this little guy. I keep joking with DH that I will go into labor tomorrow night because it will finally be safe to have him at home, but I doubt that will happen. The possibility is exciting, though!

I'll be 37 weeks in 1w2d, I can NOT wait. I can't sleep, can't eat well, am uncomfortable no matter what I'm doing (or not doing) I am very very ready to meet my baby, now I just need the baby to be ready.

So do most people's midwives want people to be 37 weeks before they will do a homebirth? Mine will do it at 35, and said she'd consider fudging it to 34 weeks. Is that strange?

Would anyone here have a problem with having a homebirth at 34-35 weeks if their mw supported it? (Not that I think it is likely for me, just wondering).

For mine it has to do with the provincial regulations.

Has nothing to do with if she's comfy with it or not. She really *is* comfy with delivering me NOW if the baby were to show NOW but her hands are tied by red tape and I'd be forced to transfer far far away...

Heck even the local hospital's hands are tied by red tape! It's not just my midwife who can't deliver before 37, but the hospital too! seriously. No NICU no "Preemies"
