I put this request out on the "smiley delay" thread, but it might have gone unnoticed in all the other information....<br><br>
I'm getting the three top vote-getter smilies together. Two are done (the <a href="http://i146.photobucket.com/albums/r254/thedomesticwife/buddamomimg1.png" target="_blank">transracial sling family</a> and the <a href="http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o251/Jennicaz/adoptionheart-1.gif?t=1176520948" target="_blank">adoption baby</a>), but the third (the adoption triad symbol) needs some work. Does anyone have a little time to devote to this?<br><br>

What we need added for sure is the word "ADOPTION"....it could be right over the center of the symbol, below, or above...it just needs to be there and be legible. Also, there is a rule that it can't be more than 25 pixels high(width doesn't seem to have any rules).<br><br>
Another thing that could be worked on a little by the new artist is the color choices of the heart and triangle-- there were several comments about the pink/purple and green tone making it look more like a lesbian/gay rights triangle with a heart around it. Perhaps they could both be dark blue, or gold, or a green and a blue? The color would be yours to fiddle with!<br><br>
If anyone is willing to work on it, and to post their work here for comments, I'd appreciate it mucho!<br><br>

I like it. It's not what we'd voted on, so I think we need to invite a little discussion on it, but I've been sitting here looking at it for a while and I really like your new idea.<br><br>
I think it's good because it explains more..."adoption triad" versus just "adoption." It certainly makes the triangle meaning clearer, and I like the sense of pride/awareness that's encouraged by saying "part of the adoption triad." That's cool. Thanks for making it your own! <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/coolshine.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="sunshine"><br><br>
Anybody else have thoughts? opinions? Would it be okay to submit this one rather than the original heart/triangle/"Adoption" version?<br><br>

Here's the progression of how I came up with this draft. I tried just adoption, but couldn't make it fit and be legible over the heart/triangle. When I tried to make the graphic smaller to fit the word underneath, it made it very difficult to make out what the graphic was exactly. I then tried putting just "adoption" off to the side and it seemed very lonely out there and my DH said he didn't understand what the graphic had to do with adoption...so this lead to the draft I posted. I'd be happy to make any changes that the group would like as it is something that really needs the consensus of everyone. I can also post some of my other attempts if people would like to see them and decide if they like one of those better.<br><br>
Oh, it is 25 pixels high by 70 pixels wide.

I LOVE it! I kind of feel that, as a birthmother, something that just says "adoption" will kind of exclude me. But by saying "part of the adoption triad", it includes the importance of the birthparents...including me. Does that make sense?

I love the transracial sling one!!! It has bothered me that the one I use in my siggie has a baby of the wrong color.<br><br>
The more I look at Megan's the more I like it. I really love the adoption triad one, but the text is pretty hard to read.
