524 Views 10 Replies 9 Participants Last post by  Bromache
DH and I talked about names this week and we have it narrowed down to a few for each gender. Once we find out if its a boy or girl we will narrow it down then. . . So far we have-
Boy
Ian Rayne (RAIN)
Brayden Reese
Rylan Kade

Girl
Madalyn Brooke
Lily Briann

I like the name Kiannah Grace but DH is afraid it will be to hard to pronounce and it will get miss pronounced too much.

Oooh, Ian is one of my FEW favorite boy names and I LOVE Lily!
Oh, I like all of those! I love Lily so much, but with our last name it just wouldn't work. I'd love to use it though, it was my great grandma's name and my grandma is just dying for someone in the family to use it and I do like it. Maybe for a middle name.

I'm so jealous of all of you who are working on your names...DH won't even talk names until after the 20 week u/s when we'll (hopefully) know if this is a boy or a girl.
Lily is a great name. We just picked it for our girl name. We originally were going with Vivian but we have a Liv so I was concerned about having a Liv and a Viv.
I like them all, of the boys Brayden is my least fave, but just because I know a Brayden and he's not the nicest child.

I really like Ian Rayne and Lily Briann, although me personally I'd put an "e" on the end, it looks too much like Brian to me. The e seems to feminize it. JMO.

Lol I know what ya mean about the nicest child. I origionally wanted to use the name Jayden but I babysit for a little girl named Jayden for a few months and lets just say it ruined the name for me!! She wasnt the most pleasant child either. DH likes Brayden the best out of all the boy names so we shall see!

Thanks everyone!! I love all the names too but Im afraid now that I wont be able to decide on a final name! Lol

I wouldn't mispell Madeline that way.

I also think the "ayden" names are way too popular just now. You can't go anywhere without hearing one. Brayden, Hayden, Jayden, Kayden and slipping into the "girl" name territory too.

Rylan looks made up to me.

Thank you for your concern but around where I live Madeline is pronounced "line" and Madalyn like I had is prounced "lynn". Two different names.

Rylan is is not made up, its on babynames.com website, go see for yourself.

I've always insisted that we have to pick names before the u/s (usually ends up being finalized the night before, procrastinators that we are). I know that we would have a hard time buckling down to pick a name for a boy if the tech thought it was a girl, and vice versa, and just in case the tech's wrong, I don't want to end up with no name for a surprise boy/girl.

Also, I think it's fun to talk about what names the kids would have had if they had been the opposite sex. (As a kid, I was fascinated imagining myself as Thomas.) If we only picked one sex's name, we couldn't do that.

We keep the names secret until after the scan, so even if we don't get to find out the sex, we still have a fun announcement to make to our families.

So, hey, maybe one of these reasons will be persuasive to your dh!

Nice names! I like Ian Rayne for a boy, and can't decide between the girls' names -- I like 'em both!

We're having a hard time with names this time around, but I'm sure we'll come to some decision before I go into labor.
