I just can't seem to get it right. It's becoming very frustrating.

Here's what I have.
Several Bumkins covers.
Several Bummis SWW.
Several Cuddlebuns fitteds.
A fleece Cuddlewrap.
A Bumkins AIO.
A Crickett's fitted.
A Little Lamb front snap AIO.
A Honeyboy type that a friend made for me.
A few FuzziBunz and JoeyBunz. I have the hemp and the micro.
Prefolds.

I have a couple other things too. Odds and ends.

I also have a few other WAHM fitteds. We just have leak after leak. I'm not sure what I should be using. I think my covers are crap. My Bummis end up soaked around the legs after one pee. The Bumkins seem so short in the front. I have a heck of a time keeping the diaper all inside the cover.
My son is only about 24lbs. He's taller and thin. No chub at all.

I need suggestions before I throw in the towel and head back to Pampers. I really want to make this work. HELP ME!!!!

i think every baby is different. with my dd i was able to do ll's, homemade honeyboys, fittes with pull on alexis covers... just about anything. we used doublestuffed fbs at night and still sometimes got leaks
but i plugged away. trying thicker dipes, doublers, fleece liners.... we did ok in the end

with ds i found he does best in pocket dipes. no leaks at all with happy heineys, wonderoos, starbunz, gatorbabies, angelluvs during the day. and we do fuzzibunz at night - the petite toddler fits best with 2 joeys - no leaks. and we have a mudpie babies aio that he does well in for daytime too...the only non pocket dipe we have

trial and error i'm sure for every mom and baby, but once you find what works - still with it. For us that means a few dozen pocket dipes. lol

don't give up . try something new? try a pocket dipe? hang tough

Where are your fuzzibunz leaking? If they are leaking out the legs or up the front it may be that your fleece is repelling or something. Are you stuffing them enough? I just can't imagine a fuzzibunz leaking. I thought they were leak proof. How many joeys do you use? Sounds like you have a heavy wetter so you probably need 2 or 3 joeys at a time.
I see you have no wool. For a heavy wetter a really good system is hemp fitteds and a thick wool cover, like an aristocrat or a fuzbomb. Are you opposed to wool? I have a light wetter so I am not facing the same issues as you. Maybe someone else can point you to some really absorbant fitteds.

My Fuzzibunz don't leak much, but I only have a couple and I use them at night. I stuff them with 2 Joeys for night, and we do OK if I put him in it RIGHT before bed and change him IMMEDIATELY when he opens his eyes.

I am actually waiting on some wool in the mail. I'm hoping that will help.

What would I do if they were repelling? How would I fix that?

I hated my bummies, they always wicked around the legs. Try drying them on hot in the dryer, otherwise ditch them and get something else.

I had four that did this, I couldn't solve it so I sent them back to the manufacturer and got four new ones. They still did it, though not quite as badly.

Actually, bummis give a lot of people problems. I will never buy any again, which is sad because they are nice and trim and have cute prints.

Good to know. I think I'll get rid of those then to help finance something different.

Wow! I can't believe all those leak for you!! My son was a heavy wetter, but never leaked out of a bummis! And cuddlewraps fit really snug too. hmm, I wonder if it could be the way you are washing them? Just a thought.

You might try more absorbant diapers, hemp doublers, with an airflow cover www.motherease.com I don't think any baby can pee through one of those!!

Good luck!

The Cuddlewrap is great. I did forget to mention the ones that are ok. The FB and JB are fine. The Bumkins are OK, the size just seems off. Maybe I need XL instead of L. I'm just guessing here. I hate to spend more money if it's not going to help.

When I wash, I first do a cold soak cycle, then I do a hot wash with 1/4 cup of Tide and then a second cold soak/rinse cycle. Is that what I'm supposed to do?

If you want some cheap plastic covers to have on hand, I just have to say that the gerber covers have never leaked on us. I know, I know not WAHM, but I had to have something that I could buy very cheap, and they've always worked. I use them mostly at night when I do, and they are great to have extras of, because you can get a lot for a few bucks, and have extras for when you didnt get laundry done, or just in the diaper bag. My bummis have leaked before but the gerber never has. Also to add that Im sure they have sucked for others, this is just our expierence, and for the price its not a big risk.

Is it possible you have a detergent build up? That may cause your diapers to be less absorbent. Toss them in a hot wash with no soap and check for suds. If you have suds, then you have build up. keep washing them over and over until you have no suds. Detergent build will also make your Fuzzi Bunz fleece repel. Same thing, wash them over and over with no soap until there are no more suds. HTH!

Puzzling! Were any of the covers or FB's used when you got them? I am one of those who never has a leak with Bummis so I'm puzzled. Seems like they either work great or don't work at all...must depend on baby's build or something.
How long have you been using your stash?? Maybe it just isn't broken in enough. I had a few leak issues for the first couple of weeks til all the dipes had been washed several times and became more absorbent.

Good advice. They are pretty inexpensive, and very leakproof. Add a doubler to your diaper and see if that helps too. It might be less the cover, as you're exceeding it's ability with too little in the dipe.
