My news, however....<br><br>
Saturday. Appt. with homebirth MW I had for DS2 (youngest currently) I was questioning whether I was going back due to a whole cervical lip ordeal during his labor.<br>
We had a great chat...*and* I *think* I've found a doula who will go with me. So..We're in business <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/smile.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="smile"> (which is good because I *can't* go back to a hospital without a reason. I just can't.)<br><br>
We found baby's heartbeat with the doppler--170, which is fine for this stage.<br><br>
So...I have resolved what I'm doing, I think, and baby sounds good. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/smile.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="smile"> next appt. 6/12

I feel bad for the mamas because I've been there too. So far so good over here. Next appt includes the 1st trimester u/s screen which is on 6/2. I can't wait! I have a MW appt the following week at our home. Looking forward to that too. 6/2 also marks the end of the 1st trimester, so that will be a great too.

Cervical lip issue too! Mine ended up being the reason for my c-section. Which makes NO SENSE.

I had some cervical lip issues, too, can you tell me more about what happened to you, if you don't mind? For me, I was stuck there with this damn bit of cervix left for what seemed like forever and MW tried to push it back (OWW!!!) and in the end DD somehow got past it after forever. Is this what others are referring to? Can you tell me why that would impact your decision to go back to the MW? because of how she handled it? Is this likely to happen again? Any info would be appreciated, even though it's O/T. Is it something I should tell the new MW?

I'm curious too. With mine, I had a "lip" but my MW didn't push it back. I ended up with a c/s after pushing and laboring down for many many hours.

MoonStarFalling, my MW didn't push it back, either, it was WAY TOO PAINFUL, I mean even compared to labouring naturally! I just had to wait it out, which was not fun after two nights without sleep. Think we should do a spinoff thread?
