I heard that the age for hummus is 6 months so I got my daughter some hummus.

It came with carrot sticks so I blended them raw and fed her some hummus.

Just now she was sick but it was all white stuff like hummus.

Was it the hummus or the carrots that made her spew or something else?

There's really not enough information here to answer your question. Could be anything really.

In the future I'd try just the hummus, mainly because blended raw carrots seems like a strange texture to me.

Have you heard anything about baby led weaning? I used ideas from that school of thought in feeding my girls and it worked well for us. I'd have steamed the carrot sticks till soft then given them to baby and let her gum them to death.

Hummus doesn't seem like an ideal first food to me as it contains multiple ingredients. I agree with KristyDi, some soft plain veggies or fruit were the first things we gave our DDs when they first started solids.

And we also did baby led weaning.

Thanks people!

Have been doing soft veg n fruits mashed up so far.

Just I had picked up these carrot sticks with hummus in a snack pack and then decided to look up hummus. Saw it was deemed okay by Google. Thought why not give it a shot?

She has been about 8 weeks on largely fruits/veg and a little rusk broken down in warm milk.

Wanted to give her something savoury.

Looks like she enjoyed the taste I have to say. Just didn't sit in her gut too well.
