Hey mamas,

I'm sure someone has already posted about this before but I'm new in these parts so thought I would give it a shot. My ds just turned 1. We BF until he was about 10.5 months, then he got an ear infection AND a real bad stomach flu (at the same time) and he completely stopped nursing. I got really sick too. We both were sick for about 2 weeks, after which when all was said and done, he didn't want anything to do with the boob. I tried to offer it to him anyway, but he would just blow raspberries on my nipple or hum! Cute, but got annoying after awhile. Anyway, he went to a milk-based formula and now is on whole milk. I know this was not very smart but I started giving him bottle of milk at night because it was the only way to get him to sleep. He was so used to going down w/ the boob, and after he weaned, he would just cry while I held him and felt really helpless...and exhausted. I was stressed about losing sleep and not making it to work on time, still dragging from being sick, etc etc. Anyway, that was almost 2 months ago and I'm still doing the night-bottle thing. I know it's bad! I'm so worried about his poor little teeth. But I just don't know what else to do. I try to rock him down, sing him down, read him down, dance him down...anything I can think of. But he just wants to suck. he wants the bottle. And I know this sounds so selfish but I just can't afford to lose any more sleep. I am working almost every day trying to get caught up on bills and if I can't sleep...I will really lose it. I feel really bad about the whole thing (I feel bad that I'm working so much, that I stopped BF'ing, that I'm giving him bottles at night to rot his poor little teeth....!) I want to figure out a way I can gradually wean him off the night bottle without it equalling sleepless nights...

sorry for the ramble...any suggestions?

I don't know anything about that, I'm sorry. I hope you get it figured out soon though!

Have you tried giving him the breast again? He had what is known as a nursing strike and he may very well take the breast back now if you try that way you can nurse him to sleep and not have to worry about his teeth anymore.
