Both the SLP and OT are going to Ivy's preschool classroom to observe her for an hour. I'm kind of glad that I won't be there. The whole "being watched" thing creeps me out. I'm also glad that Ivy doesn't have a clue people are there watching her. They are hoping to see some area of deficit in her social/play skills.

I'm guessing this is their last effort to make some sort of official evaluation report to say whether or not they are going to be able to give her services. I feel like a weirdo because on one hand, you're supposed to want to pass tests right? Its ingrained. On the other hand.. I don't really want Ivy to pass this one because I don't want her slipping through the cracks. I know she needs help, and now I (she?) has to prove she needs help??

Strange..

I hate conflicting feelings.

Here's to a morning where everything goes wrong and Ivy fails in a huge way. Massive lack of social interaction, refusal or failure to play appropriately with others and a generally obvious need for social help. Ready, toast!

Here's hoping it all goes well tomorrow (or not, depending on how you look at it....)
