Some friends recently asked my dh and I to sing at their wedding. They wondered if we had any ideas of good "folky" songs to sing. I was wondering if any of you could share ideas of songs that were sung/played at your own wedding, or of ones you think would be good. Don't be shy... I'm desperate for ideas!!!

Not sure if this is what your looking for but DH and my son at our wedding was "I Do" by Clint Black and Lisa Hartman. I love that song.

"Dance Me To The End of Love" by Leonard Cohen. There's a nicely done picture book, very Picasso-ish, with the lyrics, if you can find it, that would be a good gift to go along with it all if you use this song.<br><br>

At our wedding, we played My Best Friend, but Tim McGraw & Faith Hill while the bridesmaids went down the aisle. I love 'Annie's Song' by John Denver. You can easily create harmony.

We had a barefoot on the beach wedding, and my brother played his acoustic guitar and sang "Tupelo Honey" by Van Morrison, "Bridge Over Troubled Water" by Simon and Garfunkel, and "Shameless" by Garth Brooks.

Is this the one that includes the line "you fill up my senses"? If so, that's exactly what I was going to suggest. Sounds very nice with just a simple accoustic guitar.
