Well, it looks like we're due for a new weekly chat thread. So here we go...<br><br>
I'm 13w3d now and had my first official visit with my mw yesterday. I finally was able to hear the hb, which was a huge relief. I haven't been able to find it on my own at work and when my other mw tried to hear around 9 weeks, we couldn't find it either. I was so happy to hear my little bean trucking right along! Made my Mother's Day for sure!!<img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/love.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="love"><img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/love.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="love"><br><br>

11w2d here. I have my first mw appt on Wednesday. SO eager to hear the heartbeat (again - we had an u/s at 8w).<br><br>
Today I started my new job at the local yarn store. Too bad it's the first sunny, warm day in about a month - it is terribly slow. Wow Karen, congrats on the new job! It should be fun checking out all of that lovely yarn before it hits the shelves, no? I had a yarn dilemma yesterday that I am still miffed over- I had a pair of nb longies about 1/2 way done and needed another skein of the colorway. I went to find the skein label (I always save them) and noticed that it said "permanently mothproofed" on it. A quick google search revealed that the company uses a chemical called Mitin FF to mothproof their yarn. Do you know anything about this stuff? I am really uneasy about it being next to a new babe's delicate skin. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/irked.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="irked">

12 weeks, 2 days. My mother-in-law is here visiting for mother's day and my little girl's birthday. The kids have been having a blast with her and she took us out to eat. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/img/vbsmilies/smilies/eat.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Eat"> My morning sickness has been better, though as I write this I'm feeling a little gaggy. I'm finally over a HORRID cold that dd gave me - I swear that I have not been sick like that in years. Hoping that the exhaustion gets a little better soon...I'm still miserable without my nap.

I'll be 14 weeks tomorrow... officially fully in the second tri. I'm having a terrible headache today that started last night, nothing is kicking it's ass and I'm tired of feeling like my head is pounding. Hoping it passes soon... this is probably one of my least favorite parts of pregnancy.<br><br>
That said, today I have felt lots and lots of little taps and bumps and flutters. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/img/vbsmilies/smilies/joy.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="joy"> I love that part of pregnancy!

today and yesterday have both been really good days for baby thumps and bumps. its amazing feeling it again. i rarely get a quiet moment but when i do i almost always feel it. today was the first time i felt it so high up though. it was well above my pubic bone, probably halfway between my bellybutton and pubic bone to the right side. it was pretty strong!<br>
i wonder how often i would if my life weren't so busy. it seems early to be feeling this wee one so much, but i guess im sensitive to it by now.<br><br><br>
i started painting my living room tonight. it feels darker than i had anticipated, and im having second thoughts. but i also started in the darkest corner and the ceiling light near there is broken (wiring or something) so all i had was the late afternoon light filtering in through the window on the opposite side of the room.. so probably not a great example of how it will look in everyday life. its also really hard to imagine how something will look when it is empty of the things that make a house a home..<br>
i think i was also really getting hungry so that always changes things for the worse.<br><br>
ETA: congrats karen on your new job!! that is my total dream job <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/lol.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="lol"><br><br>

That being said I was all excited about the fact that I'm actually feeling a little more perky and getting interested in food again when I woke up this morning with a migraine. Arg. That's what I get for being optimistic, hey?<br><br>
I am excited to cook again though...I've been craving soba noodles so I went and got some and various other grains and such so I can get back into baking my own bread. I haven't used my bread machine in 3 months! Horrible. I also got a new cookbook so I'm brimming with good intentions. We shall see how long that lasts.<br><br>
I really wish I could remember at what point last time I felt movement. I've been starting to feel some vaguely baby type feelings that could just as well be gas, so I hope I feel something definitive soon.

14 weeks now. Had yet another great appointment. Heard the HB again, and DS2 got to help midwife measure mommy's belly.<br><br>
Nausea is completely gone--haven't had a lick of it. But Allergy season is now kicking my butt. I feel so miserable. Note to self: Next time make sure first trimester and allergy season coincide so you can get all the ill feelings over with at once!

My regular jeans are definitely getting tight, and I was trying to figure out something nicer to wear to church tomorrow for Mother's Day. I decided to check out a bag of maternity clothes a friend had given me, knowing she'd said there were some skirts in there and maybe some from Old Navy. I was thrilled to find two skirts that are super cute AND fit! <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/img/vbsmilies/smilies/joy.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="joy"> My DH really likes them and DS1 was super sweet and encouraging, too. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/thumb.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="thumbs up"> So I will wear something "new" tomorrow! (And I'll go shopping at Old Navy, now, knowing their stuff fits!)<br><br>
No real plans for Mother's Day here. We'll likely do our usual church and lunch combo, then I assume we'll have my folks over later in the day for a gift/card exchange. That will be sometime later in the day, after we have a chance to go do our actual gift shopping. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/img/vbsmilies/smilies/eyesroll.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="roll"> DH said he meant to take the boys out today to do it, but by the time he remembered, we were knee deep in house stuff. We are definitely making more progress on the house. Amazing what a day with DH around will do! I mostly ran errands all day and got pretty worn out. But, they were pretty much successful, and I got a quick chair massage to help my painful shoulder, too. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/thumb.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="thumbs up"><br><br>
Still feeling sick here and there. I've been throwing up at least a little bit several nights. I think I'm not eating enough, maybe. I'll eat dinner, be full/done, and then be up for several hours and get famished, but nothing appeals. Or, I go straight to feeling nauseous. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/greensad.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="greensad"> I will be very glad for all the crazy appetite stuff to go away! Yay for heartbeats and jobs and helpful husbands! I love the happy news, and I'll keep crossing my fingers that morning sickness hits the road and stays away!<br><br>
I'm doing well. I'm 12 weeks, 4 days and chugging along at life. We finally figured out when we're moving--May 25--even if we don't have an actual lease signed, so that's exciting, and we also have an idea of what our job/finances situation will be starting in July. That terrifies me, especially since I have no real grasp on how much babies cost. So I have a busy week ahead of phone calls and packing, but I'm also piecing a crocheted/knitted quilt for a friend's baby, and working on some sewn items to auction, so there's fun planned, too.

had a midwife appointment and heard the heartbeat! yippeeee!<br>
still feeling sick - though not as much...but i have started vomiting again at night. ugh! last time it lasted until 16 weeks so we'll see what happens this time. i have managed to eat a few green things so that is really exciting! it had been a while!<br><br>
my mother-in-law is coming today. we havent told her yet. it'll be her mother's day gift. wish me luck!

My mom and I are going to get a mani/pedi and take each other out to dinner tonight. I'm so excited! Very rarely do I get time away from my son that is truly "me" time. But I went out last night to watch Roller Derby as well! All this time to myself makes me feel like I'm a single gal again <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/orngtongue.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Stick Out Tongue"><br><br>
Tomorrow I start the first day of 6 weeks of student teaching. I'm so nervous! It will be a big change for my son and me both, seeing as I've been home with him pretty much every day for the past 13 months. I hope we both transition well!<br><br>
And I'm 12 weeks! Very excited to be broaching the second trimester and feeling much more secure and excited about this sticky bean. I'm going to have another baby! <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/img/vbsmilies/smilies/joy.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="joy">

congrats to all of the 14 week-ers! I will be 14 weeks tomorrow. It does feel like a big milestone.. like we are past that beginning stage where there is so much unknown..going on to where we can connect a lot more and actually see a belly and feel a baby.<br><br>
unfortunately my morning sickness has come back <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/greensad.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="greensad">. Im not sure why.. the last 2 days i have felt very off.. queasy and lightheaded.. I have so much to do on top of feeling bad. hopefully it will pass.. Im just going to keep plugging along anyways. Im too excited about getting the house fixed up to think about anything too much.

My m/s has come back recently as well... I got sick yesterday morning because of my headache, then I was queasy when I got up in the middle of the night. Bleh. I'm ready for the second tri feel good, lol.

I don't blame you! I don't know anything about that chemical, but I'd be wary of any chemical next to skin, esp. since they will be damp much of the time. I'd say frog those longies, use the yarn for something else, and get some nice not-moth-proofed yarn for the baby. As much as it sucks, it's good to find out NOW rather than after babe has been wearing them for a while. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/greensad.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="greensad"><br><br><div style="margin:20px;margin-top:5px;">

I'm glad I"m not the only one still in regular jeans! I was starting to get worried about that. They fit, but tend to slip down all the time, which is annoying. I tried wearing maternity jeans the other day, but it felt false somehow <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/greensad.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="greensad"><br><br>
And hooray for being given cute maternity gear that fits! I have one skirt I got from Old Navy, but I'm really not a skirt gal. I think it will be great in the heat of summer, though.
