All right, here's our weekly check in....the long weekend threw me off a bit, so we are a little late!
How's everyone doing this week? Anyone have an appointment?
Check in here and let us know how you're doing!
I am good. Have an appt next Tuesday to hear the .

I feel like I am really pregnant which is cool. Some days I think about being pregnant a lot and others I almost forget I am. I have lost 5 pounds (which is ok by me as I need to lose weight).

My patience are not what they were before - feel like I am having a bad PMS week. Can't seem to keep my 3 year old entertained. I had jury duty yesterday and a good friend of mine had Ethan over for a playday. It is almost like I got a taste of just being me and now I feel a little like --wow-- people were talking to me yesterday and not just about my son. I had two political conversations and everything. Anyway - sorry for the crazy - I have been a stay at home for a year now and I love it!! but I also loved my life before working for a nonprofit and lobbying, advocating, etc...

I did think I felt the baby the other night but have not felt it again since.

Peace -- Alicia
Had an OB appointment yesterday. He thinks this bleeding thing might be a normal thing for me. I think if that's true, I won't be having the 5 kids I want.
I can't stand the stress.

My kid has been good this week, he's always good. The boob has started to dry up since this is week 12. He's missing it. Nursing a lot but not getting much out.

I'm tired and it's muggy here. I hope I'm not anemic.
My appetite came back!! I'm hungry ALL the time now. And it seems my nose is getting less sensitive, which is SUCH a blessing. I wish I could feel the baby, cause without that, I don't feel pregnant.

On the 4th, we went to a park for fireworks, and I was walking around, and I got some pretty bad cramps. We sat down for a bit, and I drank some water. I was worried, cause I couldn't check for blood, but all was well. They faded, and we started walking again.

I am having some shortness of breath, which is semi normal for me, especially in the hot weather. I have started to wonder if it's because I don't normally wear a bra, and my boobs are heavy on my diaphragm. So, I've been looking for a good quality, not too expensive nursing bra that I can also wear while I'm pregnant.

I also bought some clothes that are about two sizes too big for me normally, and they're fitting, though there's still some room to grow. They're my transistion clothes. Since most of my clothes are uncomfortable on me now.
Willowrose, you didn't tell us how you are doing!

It's very hot and humid here and my veins are starting to hurt a little and look a little more prominent. I am reminding myself that I have to remember to elevate my feet a few times a day. I am really bad about just doing, doing, doing and not sitting down. So, I am pledging at least one 15 minute rest session with my legs up the wall today.

I haven't felt the baby move in a bit, after feeling it every day or two. I think it or the placenta must have moved, but I am not worried about it. It's so small still that I expect it must be normal to feel it and then not feel it for a bit.
I am enjoying being 14.5 weeks and past that time of the most intense worry about the pregnancy. I am now between mw's--I had my last appt in Charlotte and will now find one in Indianapolis.

Mindy, glad you aren't getting any more reason to worry about your bleeding, but hope it stops soon.

Have a great week, everyone!

Thanks for asking, Emily!
Yesterday I had very bad all-day sickness w/lots of throwing up...I think I must eat certain things that bring it on. I had a craving last night for Indian food, so DH went out and got me some, which actually ended up stopping my nausea!
I can't believe I'm 15 weeks. Where is the time going???
I have 2 midwife appmts this week. One w/my regular midwife who will check weight, h/b, etc...the other is a consulatation with a new midwife who does homebirths.
Persephone- I'm glad your appetite is back! Mine is somewhat and it totally makes me feel normal again!

Emily-that is a great idea to designate 15 minutes a day for sitting down. I find myself constantly on the go and I think I'll take up your idea!

Hankiesmama-I'm so glad your bleeding is nothing to worry about. We want a large family and I've had bleeding for about 6 weeks early on w/both of my boys. It is so stressful seeing that blood every time you wipe. However, this time...NONE! I can't even believe it. It seemed so normal to have the bleeding with each pregancy, that this time I had to have an early u/s to confirm that there was a baby, since I had no bleeding!

GreenMommy-I know what you mean about your patience. I wasn't sure if my lack of patience was due to hormones or the 90 degree weather we have been having. I guess its a bit of both!
I'm 11 weeks 4 days today, and feeling pretty good. I'm still pretty exhausted, but I think that's due to packing and preparing to move 700 miles as much as it is to pregnancy. I've been falling asleep with dd's at 8pm! My temper is a little short, and it doesn't help that dd's are pretty upset with me spending more time packing then I am spending with them. I can't wait until this move is over! I keep telling myself, just 3 more weeks, just 3 more weeks.....
Well, I'm still pretty sick, even with taking reglan. If I eat enough early on in the day, I'm usually OK. Not great, but manageable.
My ds had a great day today, 2 naps and a really happy mood, so that made my day much easier. He's nursing 2-3 times a day, and it is sometimes a little uncomfortable, but nothing I can't manage.

I have an appointment with my midwife on the 12th, so we'll get to hear the heartbeat then. I hope to get another u/s then since there was a little question as to how many babies were in there. She kept seeing 2 when she would turn the wand different ways, but never in the same screen, so she thinks it was just one. It still worries me a little, and I don't want to find out it's twins at 20 weeks.

We're trying to get the house in order and packed for our move at the end of the month, so I'm hoping the 2nd trimester brings more energy and less nausea. I'm not due till late January, so I still have a couple weeks before the 2nd trimester.
I have good days and bad.

I don't feel sick except when I eat certain foods I crave.

I am pretty exhausted though.

I have managed to maintain "quiet time/ nap time" for about 1-2 hours each afternoon. My girls nap, my DS plays in his room or reads.

I feel liek I am not playing with them enough though.
I miss actually enjoying going somewhere with them.
Part of me wants to crawl into bed every chance I get!

Thankfully, DD is decreasing nursing, and has been nightweaned for about a week. DH is great putting her to bed even though I HATE hearing her cry for even a minute (usually doesn't last more than that), and he also gives her massages to help when she wakes at night.

Someone suggested this, and so far she is great with it! She also slept through the night last night, for the first time ever!
I am 11.5 weeks. Still feeling sick, mostly in the afternoon. I am so close to the end of the first trimester, ready for it to end!

Starting to get really excited, told work, that went really well. Having a blast buying cloth diapers! That is a bit of an obsession!
I'm doing pretty good aside from being exhausted almost all the time it seems. This week has been rather trying b/c my dd got sick at the 4th of July celebration we went to Monday night. She puked ALL OVER ME and HER. I thought she was ok after that b/c she acted fine so we decided to stay for the fireworks and spread out our blanket and eat our dinner. Well the minute i put her down she threw up again =( So then I knew she definitely wasn't ok so we packed up and took her home. Of course she had to throw up in the car on the way home and then again when we got home. But during all of this she wasn't fussy or clingy, wanted to play and read her books as per normal. It was so bizarre. Then Tuesday she was fine all day until that night and she puked all over DH, but then proceeded to want to play after that. So I put her to bed at her normal time and then she woke us up at 12:30 all covered in puke=( So we got her cleaned up and brought her to bed with us where she was up and down the rest of the night. I guess she was making up for her lack of sleep today b/c she slept a total of 4.5 hours during the day today. Thankfully she seems to be keeping her food down though.

I have been having some anxiety related to this baby and I'm not quite sure why. I think mostly it's b/c I'm not feeling it move regularly yet (have only felt it once and that was last week). I just keep hearing these stories about women that think that they are still pregnant but the baby has stopped growing X amount of weeks ago. Am I the only one that freaks out when hearing stuff like that? I almost rented a doppler just so I could hear the heartbeat whenever I was feeling anxious, but decided that we really couldn't afford it anyways. I will be so glad when this baby gets big enough that I feel it move regularly every day.
Feeling pretty good here at 10+ weeks (I'm not keeping very close track of how far along I am!). Still sleepy -- I nap with DS every afternoon, and usually go to bed by 9:30-ish. Wierd thing is, I'm having trouble falling asleep, even though I can barely keep my eyes open prior to that -- anyone else having that problem?

My energy level seems to be slowly creeping upwards, and I'm eating well, and, I know, gaining weight. As I wrote in a separate thread, I'm developing that little preggo tummy. Will have to get out and get some maternity duds soon!

My mood and irritability seem to be improving, thank goodness. I'm more chipper and cheerful than I was a few weeks ago, and DP seems relieved.

That's about it. Still don't "feel" particularly pregnant. Am hoping that hearing the heartbeat at my next mw appt will help with that!

Hey everyone! I am 15 weeks today!! YIPPPPEEEEEEEEE!!
I've been feeling pretty good. Not as tired - I can stay up past 9 now, with NO naps!! Everytime I think the morning sickness is gone, I get it again.. hmmm maybe some of it's in my head? Yesterday we drove by mcdonalds (or as I always call it - mcgarbage!) and they had a sign for a mango raspberry shake.. and I almost threw up while driving! Shaun started rolling up the windows because he thought it was a smell.. and when I could finally stop heaving I told him what it was.. and he said, but that sounds kind of good! I said, I KNOW.. I don't know why it would make me want to heave?! haha Probably simply b/c is was MCD's! haha
I have gained about 3 pounds.. and 3 inches in my waist.. I don't think I 'look' pregnant yet.. but I like growing! My family has started touching and kissing my belly.. which I don't mind at all! I showed my 4 year old niece a picture of what the baby looks like.. and she asked 'is it gonna be biiigger??' She rubs my belly too.. it's funny, cause my 5 yr old nephew doesn't seem to care all that much!
Oh one more thing... I think I got my first taste of acid reflux? I fell asleep when I was still kind of full from dinner.. and I woke up with a nasty taste and something was trying to come out... I tried to eat something else and drink water.. but it was still there!! Is this part of heartburn?? It's super gross!!

I'm going through the same thing. Though I'm doing UC, I have an opportunity to listen to the heartbeat, and I'm sorely tempted to take it, except that I'm afraid I won't hear anything.
I'm 15 weeks, 3 days, and not feeling pregnant at all! I'm hoping to hear the heartbeat next week with a stethoscope, as I haven't heard it yet because I'm avoiding ultrasound.
My fundus is where it should be, but I haven't felt movement in a while- I felt it around 9-12 weeks but then it stopped- I think the fetus must be kicking towards my back. I think I have been feeling kicks in my cervix, maybe, or something else has been causing sharp cervical pain every so often.
The only pregnancy symptom I'm having now is horrendous nipple pain- it makes me wish Julian would wean, but I know I'd regret it if he weaned so early.
I just got back Tuesday from a trip to the beach, it was my son's first time seeing the ocean. He was terrified of it because we got knocked over by waves a couple of times. He loved the sand, though! I really want to enjoy these last few months with him as my only child.
oooh ooh...I was just sitting here reading through posts and felt a definite thump! wow!
Had a good and bad midwife appmt today. Good news...heard baby's heartbeat with no problem, uterus measured right on 15 weeks, no protein in urine as I had last month, and hemoglobin is normal.
On the flip side, midwife has upped her prices, so we are now at $3100
Is this pretty typical for those of you using midwives? Also, my insurance will only reimburse up to $500 :
If I was brave enough I would do a UC in a heartbeat. I don't know what to do now. Thats a lot of *extra* money to come up with in the next few months....
My midwife charges $1850, but that's only because she has to travel a couple of hours to us....if we lived in her town it would be $1550. I think it all depends on where you live. Midwives in large cities may charge $5k and up, but in the middle of nowhere in the Midwest the rates are really reasonable.
Well I'm still around! Almost 14 weeks now, who'd a thunk it?

Heard heartbeat with Doppler at the nurse-midwives at 12 weeks. It was nice and strong and I felt SO relieved. We're making the move to a great homebirth midwife this month, I'm really excited. She's really respectful of birth and very hands-off. She also has great postpartum care and that's what I really needed last time (hard time nursing). I've been feeling little bits of movement on and off over the past week which is so nice.

My midwife is around $2K. Is barter an option for you? Is there anyone else you can interview? That does seem a little high, especially for around where I live.
