How's everyone feeling lately? I can't seem to stop eating, yesterday I had almost an entire box of macaroni and cheese

Question for everyone, how do you feel about getting the flu shot while pg? I think someone might have posted about this awhile back but my doc is pressuring me to get one and I don't see the need. I don't think they could test it as much as necessary to prove it's safe on the baby because it changes every year. However my husband doesn't feel the same way, thinks doctors know everything so I need some proof/evidence something to prove I shouldn't get it.

I've been feeling really good lately, except for the occasional mood swing. YIKES!

Mmmm Macaroni & Cheese, that sounds really good! Thanks for the suggestion. I've been eating a lot of apples and cheese lately.

I'm going to decline the flu shot this year. Last year was the first year I had one and I just don't think that I want to knowingly inject myself with a strain of a virus. Just seems counter intuitive.

Also, I'm officially out of non-maternity clothes as of this week. It's gotten to where I just can't stand to have things constricting around my giant bellah!

I'm feeling much better this week too. Still need a daily nap tho.

About the flu shot, if you have access to a library, borrow The Vaccine Book by Dr Sears and read the section on the flu vaccine. I wish I still had the book, I could give you the gist of it. I borrowed it from the midwife's lending library. It's a very pro-vaccine book so it may appeal to your husband, but in spite of being pro-vaccine, it completely confirmed and solidified my decision not to vax.

Edited to add that if you ask in the vax forum, you may get some links and good info. Something to keep in mind is that even the mercury-free brand of vaccine can still contain traces of mercury. Considering we have to think twice about taking any medications while pregnant, you're right to think twice about injecting mercury into your body.

My big thing with the flu shot is I used to work at a nursing home. Every resident and employee was required to get a flu shot. And guess what? Ten or so residents died of flu that year. I guess someone could argue that more people would have died if it wasn't for the flu shot, but it didn't seem to do much good. It just supposedly protects against one strain, but there are plenty others out there, even if that works.

No flu shot for me either. Just seems icky to put something into my body like that. If I get the flu, I'll deal but I don't like taking chances with shots. Some of them are just plain dirty. Anyway, enough of that.

I have been having a clothing crisis lately. I still fit into some of my pre-preg pants but man, they are getting tight. The maternity stuff is WAY too big (i spend all day pulling up my pants)...and then I have some pants that I bought after DD was born (I wasn't one of the ones who lost the baby weight right away - it took a year!) but those are still too big (which seems weird). Anyway, NOTHING FITS RIGHT and it is starting to drive me crazy. I don't remember this in between time from the last time around. Anyone else in this boat too?

Also, my DD spilled some tea on my computer and it doesn't work - so, now I have to wait my turn to use DH's computer so i am hardly online anymore. Part of that is a blessing...but its also a bummer because I just can't keep up with this forum!

Still really tired but it seems to be getting more manageable as long as I take a nap. I have a good appetite but not really starving. I am feeling huge and just remembered that I was really big early on with my second pregnancy like I am now. I am already in my biggest maternity jeans but I still have room to grow in them thankfully. My others are just too uncomfortable.

This pregnancy just seems to be flying by. I can't believe I am a few weeks from being half way already! I am really excited about meeting this little one but apprehensive in how it will all work out and change what we have going on right now.

Never had a flu shot, and I never will! I have also never had the flu, so why chance it?

I'm starting to feel better too, although still queasy in the afternoon/evening, but thankfully no vomitting for the past week. Phew, glad that's over. Being extremely sick for 4 months really sucks.

We have our ultrasound this Friday...I'm so excited! My son really wants it to be a boy, yet I've had nothing but girl dreams about this baby. Hopefully he's right though....

Dd turns 2 this Thursday, yay!
