I didn't see one of these so I thought I'd start a new one.

My new boss emailed me today and said because I'm on long term disability now, I need to return my assets ie my computer (I don't use anyway) my blackberry, my CAR which I use for ALL Dr visits. Now I suppose I sound petty, but I do pay $200 a month for the car, it's not free. Bummer!! I emailed my boss back asking if I could pick my car up on return to work on June 1st and he's yet to get back with me. So I have a feeling we'll end up having to buy a new car because I won't have a specific territory when I return, double bummer. i can live without the other things. Well I can live without the car as well, but I was using it for Dr appts (totally allowed since I pay for the car monthly).

So DH hasn't heard back from any of the GS jobs that he's applies for and we don't know how long it's going to be, so he has enlisted in the reserves (he was active duty). The negative to this is, he'll leave for 4 months starting mid July and we'll only see him on the occasional weekend. UPSIDE to this, we'll get Tri-Care insurance again and that'll pay for the birth of the baby as the secondary to my insurance and save us $4k in out of pocket $$$. This part WE LOVE!!!

Last week DS came home from school complaining of stomach issues, Teacher said he threw up and had diarrhea on Thursday, he came home said he basically lied to the teacher and was fine. Friday same thing again. I know he hates school so we assumed all was well physically. He did start having diarrhea though, DH & DD got fevers and chills, and felt ill. Oldest DD went to her dads house for the weekend and i picked her up last night and she had been puking all day long. Granted he took her to Burger King, Taco Bell and Cold Stone all in one day (Saturday) but I don't know which one made her sick, the fast food or the virus. We NEVER do fast food because I have celiac and can't eat at those places so her stomach wasn't used to the over load. needless to say she's home from school today, but doing MUCH better now. Haha, I have anti puke meds so I split them and share them with my family when necessary and a stomach virus is totally NECESSARY!!!

So far (KNOCK WOOD!!) B and I have not had any signs of being sick thanks to my insane lysol, clorox wipes, hand sanitizer, and hand washing habits. LOL

Other wise, I feel pretty good. I'm not really having any back/hip/pelvic pain the last day or so. I have been having some pretty intense contractions in the evenings even though I do nothing daily so I'm taking extra nifedipine and that causes headaches, but I can deal with that. Zangua suggested a small glass of wine and bath for someone ctx'ing so I might try that if it happens again in the next day or so.

I have my normal appts this week, NST Tues, PT Thur, BPP Fri, and that's a LOT going on because it's 30 miles one way to each thing.

My Amnio is scheduled for March 30th, results should be in on the 31st and baby girl should be delivered around the 1st as long as lungs are mature. that's literally 5 weeks from now OMG!!!

I have no other plans this week than the long list of things I just typed out LOL. What about you all?

Wow Tenk, you and that baby have a busy schedule! I hope it all goes really well. And only 5 weeks?!?!?!?! My due date is the day after you so that makes it all seem scarily close for me too, even though I know your little one needs to come a bit early. I keep meaning to ask, what is a BPP?

All going ok here. Turns out I was "mildly" anaemic, don't know the number yet as I just got a letter from the midwives but I will find out at my next appt. I have started taking Floradix - blech - so hopefully my energy levels might improve a bit soon. I also sorted out the rest of my 3rd trimester supplements so I feel like I should be giving BabyGirl everything she needs.

We still need to get a few things, nappies/covers mainly, but there is a baby expo here in 2 weeks so we aren't getting anything until we've been there and looked at a few different options. We did find some good mattress protector pads online last night though - if anyone is looking try searching for incontinence aids, you get a much wider range. The ones we're getting are queen size with tuck-ins so they will still protect the sheets as she gets older and more mobile. I was joking with DH last night that soon we'd be sleeping in a bed with an incontinence pad and side rails!

I finished the blanket I was knitting for the girl and have finished a pair of bootees and nearly finished a hat. I'm just going to do lots of bootees I think as my mum is making some jumpers/cardigans and she won't need much warm stuff. It'll also help use up all the little bits of wool I have leftover from other projects.

Better go, we are off to walk over a block of land we considering.

Hope everyone is well. Looking forward to hearing all your news.

Oh, and Tenk, I hope your family are better soon and that you and B continue to dodge it.

Wow, Kate, that's a lot of knitting!!! I have learned that I suck at it so my knitting days are over.

BPP means Biophysical Profile, or an ultrasound of the baby where they measure movement, fluid, watch for breathing motions, and something else, you get 2 points for each one they catch and can get a total of 8. obviously 8/8 is best, but it's hard to see the breathing motion sometimes and it really requires constant watching and stillness LOL so 6/8 is an ok score so to speak. I have to have the BPP on Fridays, and they do one on Tuesdays if the Non Stress Test doesn't show the best they'd like to see. HTH!

Oh I'm anemic as well, but I don't take supps, I try and eat more iron rich foods instead...it got so bad with B that I almost needed a transfusion after delivery.
Cool thanks for that. I wonder if we call it something different over here or if we don't do it, I don't remember ever coming across it before. Glad she is scoring so well

I've tried to increase my dietary intake of iron as well. I'm actually only taking half the recommended does of Floradix as taking it in the morning made me feel sick so I'm just taking one dose before bed. Hopefully the combination will be enough, I need all the energy I can get.

Sounds like a lot of knitting but it's all little things really. I can knit ok but I cannot crochet to save my life!

Tenk - glad to hear that everything is going well as far as you and B are concerned. Hope you stay healthy from the cruddies running around and that your DH hears something soon.

Kate - so jealous of your knitting. I would love to learn.

AFM - overall everything is great. Baby is moving more & I swear that I can feel a foot right under my left rib. Strange. I had a little bit of a disappointment last week in that I found out that they are going to cut my teaching position to basically part-time. This was a big blow. Currently I teach about 75% of full-time and then work after school as the athletic trainer for the sports. The salary is about even for each. Next year we'd already planned on losing half the salary as I can no longer work at the athletic trainer once the baby comes -- too many late night & frankly I don't want to work nights. We were hoping that I'd get to hold on to my same teaching position, if not move up to full-time teaching. I really didn't think the cut would come. But it did. The part-time position will basically bring in enough for childcare expenses. So, now I have to decide if I want to hold on to that position in hopes that things will turn around in another year or so, stop working and be a SAHM, or maybe look for another position. I have time to decide, but needless to say I had a rough weekend emotionally. I just keep coming back to the fact that I fortunate to even have any job right now and that me and the baby are healthy. The rest will fall into place, and maybe this will all be for the better anyway. I'll keep you posted.

Good news -- I fly home for my first baby shower this weekend. That should be a lot of fun. Now I just need to see if I have anything appropriate to wear. Somehow I don't think my PE teacher wardrobe of jeans & t's will do...

Hi everyone. Flew back home from Arizona last night, underestimated how exhausted I would be today. Decided to work from home instead of going into the office like I had planned (what was I thinking??) and besides, DS is super huggy and would be sad if I turned around and left again today.

We got his kindergarten registration in the mail today. YIKES. His orientation/tour of the school/meeting the teachers is March 18th. he'll start in September...it's only a half day kindergarten so that's a huge relief. I'm so proud of him, he and DH did a lot of reading while I was gone and his reading has improved by leaps and bounds this week.
He's so proud of himself.

My trip was awesome, if not tiring, but I kept up. Didn't get puffy until the plane ride home yesterday. taking it easy today and loading up on water.

Knitting - I have made 6 soakers and two sweaters...I need to make a hat or two and a couple little sock/booties. I have a sweater on needles that I need to finish too, but it's 6-9 month size so I have time.

Tenk - I can't believe you are so close!

maydaymom - good luck making your decision about work...I'm still undecided about what to do when I start going back into the office when the baby is about 4 months old. I had a nanny for DS, I'm thinking I'll go that route again...it was only 4 hours a day twice a week, but my problem is that DS's kindergarten will be less than 4 hours a day, 5 days a week, so I'm not sure how to make those three things (work, nanny/daycare, kindergarten) match up schedule-wise.

baby was so active this past week. I was on the move a lot and my routine was "off". Feet are under my right side ribs constantly.

Em, so glad your home and that you all had such a great time. it's nice to get a break occasionally!! I know, I can't believe how close I am. I keep thinking, time is creeping by, but really it's not. It's flying!!

May, Sometimes when she's moving I can see her foot pushing out. Now, I don't see toes or anything, I just see the shape of her foot moving around in there and can even tell how long it is. It's so cute, and kinda painful lol

Kate, glad I could help! I'm sure it's just called something else there, I have found that they are totally necessary in some cases.

So I think I'm going to make another sling. It's got to be cheaper than the $40 a Moby costs, and that way I have several choices LOL. I'm looking at jersey knit fabric for stretch and softness. I'm looking on eBay for some fabric, but does anyone else know where a good place to get some cute fabric would be?

tenk - wow! i'm so sorry you have all that going on. i hope everyone feels better soon.

katelove - they found i was mildly anemic too. so i've been taking liquid chlorophyll (yuck), and trying to eat more iron rich foods.

mayday - i'm sorry about your job
but
for your baby shower!

emnic - glad your trip went well. get lots and lots of rest mama!

AFM - nothing much really happening here. baby keeps growing and moving. tomorrow i have an appt with my m/w, so hopefully it's an uneventful one. i've gotten a couple of baby carriers, and have been practicing with my cabbage patch doll - lol. sleep has been a pain lately as i find myself flopping back and forth on my sides. and having the weirdest dreams. and my back tends to hurt alot when i'm sitting down (standing up i'm fine). but that's all i can really complain about.

I flop from side to side too...I can't take lying on my back when I'm pregnant, I get super lightheaded and feel grody, so I always end up waking myself up because I roll onto my back. Then it's just side to side all night. If I can keep my body pillow in bed with me it helps my hips not be sore all night, but if DS comes to get in bed with us I have to toss my body pillow out to fit him in there. Ugh.

Had a midwife appt today, I"m on the every two weeks schedule, she was getting a kick out of feeling all the bony baby parts which are quite obvious through my belly. Baby is still head down (was at last appointment two weeks ago too) and seems to flop side to side just like me.
Talked about all the post partum stuff, very exciting
10-12 more weeks (I'm still busy convincing myself that this one will be 41+ weeks too...

o i hear ya! if i lay on my back in a few mins i feel like i'm gasping for air. it's terrible. i was never a back sleeper before (except for a few months last yr when i broke my ankle and had to be) so i never find myself gravitating there.

congrats on graduating to 2 wk appt. how exciting! and
for being able to feel on baby. i *think* i can feel him, but i don't know if it's my mind playing tricks on me.

Let's see-

Baby is moving up a storm, which is lovely. I had an appointment this week, which I changed to next week because of schedule conflicts. I just realized it will be 6 weeks since the last time I went it! Opps! Lol! I'm wondering if they'll switch me to 2 weeks when I go in...

I have a cold, which is not lovely. :/ Nothing too horrible though- but why is it always worse at night??? Lol.

I put an offer in on a house yesterday. And of course, the house has been listed for 2 months and then there were 3 offers on it yesterday! Ugh!
I offered asking price but asked for a flooring and paint allowance, so we'll see. I think I'll love the house with some new flooring and decent paint! Unfortunately, the kid's rooms will be small- but our living space increases and it's in a great neighborhood.

Baby showers are in the works- my work friends are throwing a shower for me next month and my partner's family is working on 2 (!) showers. Fun times! I am a tiny bit anxious about the timing of it all, but it will work out fine in the end I'm sure!
