It's a new week, so I thought I'd start a new thread

Not much to report here. I'm pretty much over the nausea
but still pretty exhausted. Dh is out of town (with our only car) until late Tuesday so it's just us girls hanging around the house. I've decided I'm going to get some cleaning done and work on my websites. Of course I haven't started yet, instead I'm here :LOL

How's everybody else this week?

Not much new here either, except I'm still tired all the time. I was thinking this was going to subside, but now I'm thinking it's because I have to get up to go to the bathroom a couple of times.

Trying to get caught up on things around here as well, but it's first thing in the morning and I have yet to get anything else done!

ETA: Just got a call from my midwife about my lab results, and it appears that I am borderline anemic. LOL, I could have told her that! I always am since I dont eat much meat...now I have to find an OTC iron suppliment. Any suggestions on one that isnt too hard on the digestive system??

Had my first midwife visit last week and completely forgot to post! How's THAT for preggo brain??
Heartbeat was a healthy 150 and I still feel movement pretty regularly. We have a doppler at home, so I can hear baby pretty much anytime I want.
I also had some dental work done last week and in STILL recovering from the pain. I am a lil worried about being on tylenol and antibiotics so long, but I suppose its better than having and infection all this time.
Next visit isnt until July 19th.. then they will refer me for a u/s soon after that. I am really excited to find out the sex of this squirmy things. I had a pretty strong boy feeling.. but now I am beginning to wonder!
Hope everyone else is doing well

Hello all... Just got done reading last week's and this week's thread so far. It is so nice that we are all finding something else to talk about besides "I am so sick I haven't even been able to sit at the computer"! I bet that if we went back and read some of our older threads, it would be so depressing!

On the caffeine issue - I guess I am a "stickler" about the things I know aren't good for myself, because I know if my adult-sized body can have problems with them, then there's no way my itty-bitty baby needs it! I'm talking about alcohol, smoking, caffeine, nitrates, mercury, etc. But I think that is everyone's personal decision. I know myself well enough to know, that if something went wrong I would be scrutinizing every little thing I did or put in my body. So for me it's better to stick to the "ideal" and then I don't worry about it. For me, that cup of coffee wouldn't be enjoyable because then I'd be feeling guilty about it.

As for what's going on with me, I go to the dr. again in two days. Looking forward to hearing that heartbeat again! And interested to see where I am with weight gain, on their scales...

I'm in that middle time, the queasiness is gone, energy is coming back, but I don't feel movement yet. Usually about 17 weeks for me. Um, oh, I dug out some maternity clothes finally and so when I went to church yesterday, that is how we "told" everyone.

The other big news is that we found a house and will be moving in a month. I have SO much to do. After being so tired these last couple of months, the house here is a mess...clutter everywhere. I have to get it all cleaned up so the rental company can show the house, and start packing. The new house is slightly larger, but no garage! I have a two car garage (now) with lots of stuff that will need to be sorted through and, hopefully alot of it, sold or given away. I just need to find the energy to do it!

Going to the midwife tomorrow, hopefully she can recommend a someone in our new city, 75 miles away.

Strangers have started asking when I'm due. I told you I was already giant! Big ol' pokey-out belly.

DS has started "acting" like a baby. It's funny what he comes up with. He wants me to rock him while he sucks his thumb and he talks in squeaky baby tones. He never sucked his thumb! Don't know where that came from. And he's still asking all kinds of questions about how Daddy planted the seed, whether the baby is crying in there, when he or she is coming out... He is very excited to see the new baby (right now!), as long as it's a brother.
I wonder what will happen when it's here.

I keep forgetting I'm pregnant. No time to daydream about the little bean as I did with the first. Sigh.

Happy weeks, all!

I had a stranger touch my belly for the first time. I've been dreading this, I hate invasion of my personal space in general. But this time I didn't mind so much, it was a nun, and I figured she never got to experience pregnancy herself, so it is probably very exciting for her to experience it through other women. That, and because we're pretty religious, I don't find nuns too threatening. I suppose if too many nuns start coming up to me touching my belly, it might get old, but following a Sunday service ocassionally probably won't be too upsetting.

I slept most of Saturday away. I was kind of bummed dh let me sleep so much, it was the one non-rainy day we've had in so long. But he was right when he said that he figured I must really need the sleep. I am completely worn out by the end of the week, and last week was particularly bad.

Things are well. I am experiencing some irrational pregnancy anxieties - for example, worrying that I was already gaining too much weight, then looking up my chart from last time and realizing that I had already gained more by now last time, so then I immediately began to worry that I haven't gained enough!!
:

My dd is also pretending to alternatively be a tiny baby (she collapses in the floor because she "doesn't know how to walk yet", and she makes little wimpering sounds and loves to be held) or to be mothering a tiny baby - or telling very intricate stories about the tiny baby after it "pops out" of my belly. It is fun. She was lying in bed with me the other morning and my stomach growled. She caught her breath, loooked up at me with big excited eyes and asked, "Was that the baby growling?"!!

michray - that must be very cool to have a doppler at home and be able to hear the baby anytime. Due to travel I will have six weeks between my last and next appts - that is so long to wait! I feel the baby moving here and there, but it is not the same as the end when you feel the baby all the time and have that very concrete, almost constant reassurance that things are well. I was thinking of dropping in for a quick listen to the hb before we head out of town!

I am expecting my first oder of cd supplies this week - I'm excited!

I love the doppler.. since this *may* be our last baby I wanted to do all of the pregnancy things I missed with the other two
I got a decent deal on renting one at www.heartbeatsathome.com and am so glad I did!

Congrats on the cd stuff!!!!! It IS soooo much fun

I forget.. about half the day or more! Chasing my toddler and entertaining my 7 year old keep me busy enough that I barely remember to change out laundry...let alone that I am pregnant

Maybe it's just me, but I have NEVER had a stranger touch my pregnant belly. NEVER, and this is my third babe. It's extremely rare for someone I KNOW to touch my pregnant belly too. I can't fathom what would possess a person to do that without asking first.

15/16 weeks here. Wondering when this little one will arrive. My first two both arive just before the full moon. This babe is due during the dark of the moon. I'm wondering if that means she'll be here two weeks early or late, and continue the full moon tradition. I'm secretely hoping early, but not expecting it!

Just checking in.

I have had LOTS of ppl touch my belly, and frankly, I don't like it one bit. So far, I've done pretty well with a grin-and-bear it, but I'm NOT the touchy-feely type with strangers, and it's really bugging me.

They cut my hours at work (again) and now, I'm working about 8 hours a week. -Good for resting, but not so good for saving money for the new bean. I don't know how lucky I'm going to be finding a new job in this state. I'm obviously pregnant, and I don't know if anyone's going to want to hire me. I'm going to try a temp agency, this week, so cross your fingers.

Glad to see everyone is doing well! Nothing else to report, really. I have an appt with my asthma/immunology specialst on Wednesday, and an appt w/the midwife on Thursday. I'll let everyone know how it goes.

Have a great week, and I'll tty all later!

I just got a mental picture of a bunch of nuns flocking to you with their hands out to grab your belly :LOL

Now that I think about it, I don't think I've ever had a stranger come up and feel my belly. Maybe I give off a threatening vibe? :LOL

I'd resolved to get a bunch of stuff done while dh was out of town, but I haven't done anything. Well I changed the ink cartridge in the printer, does that count? I have a busy morning of cleaning tomorrow!

Oh man, I just got hit by a hunger attack. I need to go find something to eat. It's crazy how I go from not hungry at all, to ravenous in a matter of seconds.

gristastic, you know it's against the law for employers to discriminate against you for being pregnant, right? Not that I don't know people will find away around all those discrimination laws, just wanted to mention it. Seems like they couldn't reduce your hours, either, if it was on account of you being preggers.

That is, assuming you are in the US. I don't know about other countries.

technically you're right.

The thing is, they're also right. Because of the circumstances of my pregnancy, I can't do any heavy lifting, and they have a new resident that is over 300 lbs and completely unable to move. I am not able to lift this resident (properly) without feeling strain and seeing spotting.

They have changed my job to incorporate only clerical duties and that doesn't really require the same amt of time as my old position.

I should also say that the company is so small that they don't even have to give me maternity leave if they don't want to. They are just under the minimum amt of employees to be required to give me leave by law.

My employer has three employees, including me. They aren't obligated to do anything for me, but are being very cool about it. In fact, my boss is quite excited for me. He has nothing but positive things to do say about children and family. I am quite thankful for him.

My first official midwife appt (besides the meeting to decide if I liked them) is this Friday morning. I'm looking forward to it.

I thought a felt a kick during lunch the other day, but haven't felt anything since, so maybe not.
I can't wait to feel this babe move.

SUPERVEE: You said, "DS has started "acting" like a baby...." Well, I read the whole thing twice and still thought it said, "DH has started..." and I thought, well, that's a really unusual way to be part of the pregnancy, isn't it?
: Yeah, I can be an idiot.

Jaclyn, once again, thanks for the laugh! Aren't you the one who had me laughing last week about your grandma?

Oooooh, boy. Yeah, that was me.

I don't get to make people laugh too often. This is fun....it happened here in the office today, too. CEO, my husband (unofficial employee) and me, in office. Our new Sales VP calls and says she got a meeting with this client we're desperate for and I say, "Well...how in the H*LL did you do that?" Apparently, in the very conservative aviation field, that went over like a good comedian on Saturday night. I didn't find it funny, but they laughed so long and hard that I could hardly hear the Sales VP.

Maybe I found new talent. (Oh wait.....I doubt it!)
