Ok my last pregnancies I gained between 20-50lbs. I'm 15 weeks so far and haven't gained (or lost)1 LB. I am overweight but usually have gained something by now. I'm on a pretty restricted diet but I think I should have gained something by now even if it's only 2-4 lbs-for baby, boobs and belly. I do have a pretty good pregnancy belly but my xl maternity pants still fall down and my L fit perfect, almost tight at times. So just wondering what you all have gained so far if you don't mind telling. And if this is ok-not gained anything so far?

My midwife does not weigh me and I don't weigh myself I'm at my ideal weight going into my pregnancies ~ first PG gained 35 second gained 31, though 6 of that was in the last week so I really think that it was less than that as that was all water.

I have been ravenous this PG and not nausious once, so I am guessing that I may have already put on 5 or 10 lbs. I started at 120.

Last PG I had not gained any weight at 20 weeks, I was more nausious and was nursing a very young baby. You are fine if you have not gained any weight yet, it's still early and the lbs will start coming at some point. If you are overweight and on a restrictive diet it would make sense that you have not gained weight yet, you know? I'd say it is a good thing as your recommended weight gain will likely be less, anyway. HTH!

I honestly have no idea what I've gained so far...don't really want to know

But today I was 171 and thought YIKES! Guess I could have asked what I was at the first appointment but again too scared to do so.

I felt I was a perfect size before hand, and I didn't have problems the last two times around.

My midwife doesn't weigh but I do peek at the scale for curiousity at home. I was almost 20lbs overweight before starting IVF. I gained 15 lbs during the procedures. I figure that was hormone/bloating weight. I lost that 15 lbs in the first months or two of pregnancy and haven't gained anything since.

My belly is obviously bigger than it was so I assume I'm sort of gaining a bit and losing a bit at the same time. I'm almost 19 weeks.

I did casually comment to my midwife that I haven't gained any and she said she's not at all concerned. Baby/fundus seems to be growing and I look fine which is good enough for her.

I lost about 6 lbs in the first trimester (combination of throwing up, and not drinking anymore of my husband's delicious yet calorie-laden homebrew beers ) and have now finally broken even and gained that back. Started at 115, went down to 108, and am now 116. I've been checking every week just because I did want to gain back what I had lost.

i've been weighing myself weekly. i'm 15 wks, and i'm up 11lbs from my pre-pg weight. i've also been ravenous (coupled by the fact that teach an aerobics class 3x/wk, and i always had a high metabolism), and i gained the majority of it b/w 6-12 wks. i've kind of stabilized since then.

I started at 151, and weighed 151 this morning on the scale, which means I gained the 6 back that I lost and that's it. I would prefer to only gain 18 more since I'm delivering in 18 weeks that would be perfect for me!!!

I have had textbook weightgain so far--5 lbs in weeks 1-12, then about a pound a week since, so I'm up 8 lbs which I am really happy about. I started at 110 and really want the little one to be cozy!

I'm down 22 lbs from my pre-pregnancy weight & I've been holding steady at the current weight for a month now. I didn't own a scale beforehand, but I bought one several weeks back because I wanted to keep an eye on things--either in terms of losing much more or in gaining back too quickly. My midwife is okay with me losing more as long as I don't show any signs of nutrient deprivation or ketosis. I'm not actively trying to drop more, but I still have enough general pudge that it won't worry me if I go another month or two before I start appreciably gaining.

Depends on whose scale I use! lol But seriously, I gained about 2 pounds the first 3 months b/c I was so nauseous all the time. I have since made up for that and on my scale at home I have gained about 10 altogether. I gained 50 with my twins, which was a struggle to put on (all I did was stuff my face with good food). Looks like I won't have so much trouble with this one.

I started at 140 and was 150 at my 16-week appointment (I'm 17 weeks now). That's all good, but I gained 7 pounds between weeks 12 and 16, which alarmed me a bit -- not so much because I mind gaining weight. I'm down with it! No, I got worried because I flashed back to the last several months of my first pregnancy where I was gaining 7 pounds every two weeks due to swelling and water and possible pre-e, so I just want to make sure I'm gaining the right KIND of weight.

I am almost 15 weeks (due last week of May). I am 5'8'' and started this pregnancy at 133lb, so right in normal range. I lost 1lb with flu and morning sickness in first trimester. I had no weight gain as of 2 weeks ago, but believe I am up about 3lbs in the last couple weeks. This morning I was 136lb. I am an avid weightlifter and runner, so with my last 2 pregnancies, I have not gained much, if any, in the first 15 weeks, then it picked up and I both times I gained right between 30-35lb. I anticipate that I will follow the same route this time and gain a solid 35lb since starting at the low end of my weight scale. I have an appt this Thurs and would not be suprised with a 5lb gain total. Ready for it to pick up and grow a baby.

I haven't gained anything. With my daughter (16mo) I gained 55lbs. Most of it stuck, so I started off being heavier this time around. I haven't gained anything and I doubt I'll gain very much. I'm not on a restricted diet, I just try and not overeat. I'm 17 weeks btw.

I have not gained any weight - actually about 20 lbs lighter than my pre-pregnancy weight. I am obese so my doc wanted me to stay weight neutral if possible. He said that if you are overweight, it is not necessary to gain weight during pregnancy.

I have been craving tomatoes, cucumbers, strawberries and raspberries. That is pretty much all I eat except for a protein at night. I think that has something to do with me not gaining.

Either way, my doctor is not concerned as long as I am eating healthy and getting vitamins.

I just went to the doctor this morning. I'm 16 weeks and I haven't gained anything yet. The baby is actually measuring 18 weeks, so my lack of growth hasn't impacted the baby.

I gained 42 pounds with my first pregnancy, so I couldn't help but be sort of pleased with the lack of gaining this time around. I'd love to keep this pregnancy to 30 pounds or less.

I am 18 weeks and go in to the midwife tomorrw. At my 14 weeks apt I was up 1 lb. When I weigh myself at home I seem to go back and forth 2 lbs either way. I haven't been very hungery yet and when I do eat it is hard to eat more then a small childs meal. so I snack during the day. I started out a little heiver then the OP did and my midwife wants me to not gain more then 15 lbs. I am right on track.

One of my classes at school requires me to do diet studies and I typicaly am only eating 1400 kcal a day. This is 500 kcal less then the RDA. But RDA also assums you will gain 25 to 30 lbs.

I've had thre full term pregnancies before this one and each one I gained between 35-50 pounds. The last one was terrible to me! I never lost it all with each one, so I was a little overweight to begin with. But, I got the flu right before my first appt, and so between that and my 2nd I gained 4lbs. Really, it was just gaining back what I lost form the flu. lol I got the flu one more time since then, and with eating a little better this pregnancy, and going to the gym, I've been holding steady. I had gained 3 pounds over the holiday, but at the gym this morning I'm actually down a few pounds from my first appt. weight. I'm happy with that. I'm trying to gain only 20 ish pounds this time around since I started out heavier than i wanted. i guess we'll see what baby does to me.

HI! I'm delurking here after a few weeks. I've been pondering the same issue with me! I was 30lbs over my prev-preg starting weight - I'm 14/15 weeks and have gained 3 pounds. Which just amazes me considering how popped out I am and that I had gained like 12lbs by this time last time. I do feel at the end of the day like maybe I haven't eaten enough but I still don't have much of an appetite. Ultimately, I think I'm fine with it even if I'm a little puzzled.

I haven't been weighing myself at home cos my scales are in sorage with the rest of our stuff. But, I was 63kg on my scales before I got pregnant. When the midwife weighed me on the clinic scales at 16 weeks I was 67kg. I think that is mostly belly and boobs as I tried on my jeans last week and they still fit fine, they just won't do up

Fortunately in the last few weeks, as the nausea has cleared up, I have started wanting really fresh, healthy food. I also feel well enough to find a new gym and start exercising again so I am hoping not to put on anymore than I need to.
