I'm starting this thread even though I am tired of doing the WW thing. It's just one of those weeks. I'm not eating any junk and I'm trying to be careful of portion sizes, I'm just not counting points. Okay, I'll admit it, I've had a few swigs of my son's chocolate milk today. We allow him one sugary food a day and he chose the chocolate milk then hardly drank any. Boy, I wonder if he's really MY kid. lol

Hi I'm Maria, Does anyone remember me? I was just searching an old thread almost a year old looking for a recipe. I can't believe I actually found it! I also found that a year ago I was just about at goal & have since gained & feel terrible about it. If anyone remembers me I have done this a few times & I was so concerned that I wanted to do it once & for all & thought I had figured it out so that I didn't have to start over again! I quit working out & the eating habits stuck for a while & then slowly faded. I have been trying to amp myself up to get started again for months & nothing. I have been walking for a few weeks & it isn't changing my weight. So I think I need to jump back into this thing head first & get on track before more time passes & I have more weight to lose. I'm interested in starting up again, I tend to go all or nothing & I go a good long while a year even then a switch goes off in me & slowly I give up everything, the workouts & all the veggies, then slowly I add more & more junk! Next I find myself miserable that I didn't keep it up & have to lose the same pounds again. When I do it I do it with every cell in my body, maybe even get a little obsessed. Ok so I'm joining here we go!

Oh man, SundayCrepes, that's my biggest weakness too. When I get great food for my babes and they don't eat it. Like this morning, I cut up some waffles to give my girls in the car on our morning drive to grandma's house / work. Then they decide they don't want it. I there hungry, waffles on the seat next to me . . .

And welcome Maria! I'm a little worried about maintenance too. I've gotten all gung-ho about WW and am really happy. But I haven't decided on a reasonable goal. What's a real weight I could stay at for a few years? Old WW had a goal of 162 for me, but I've got a big frame and some muscle. 162 is really low for me. Not a long-term weight.

And can I really count points and measure forever?

The healthy guidelines are going really well for me. Really well. I love my oil points! They make me eat more veggies. Plus an excuse for my Starbucks addiction. Gotta get that milk serving.

Amazingly I was down last week, after a birthday party with carrot cake this weekend. Yes, I cut corners and wore my lightest outfit for weigh in. But losing is losing, right.

Yeah! Down 17 lbs to 173. A few more to go . . .

Have a good week ladies!

Eating food my kids have rejected is a huge one for me too. What is that urge in me to eat it? And we even have a dog who would love to eat most of their uneaten food!

Tonight is the first WI since I dropped my last 5 nursing points. I hope to be down a pound. It was a tough week- I was hungry without those 5. I had some great workouts, and most days did really well...except yesterday of course, where I had this insane appetite and ended up using 10 BP.

So...did the drop in points make a difference?

My HUGEST problem is almond butter and jelly sandwiches. If my daughter doesn't eat well, I can make her one and if she's hungry (and didn't like what I made for dinner,) she'll eat it. The problem is, if she didn't eat because she's a toddler, I then have this sandwich whispering, nay, shouting, "EAT ME." And usually I do. Every now and then I have the ability to give it to the dog.

I had a terrible week this past week. Didn't count points, but tried to sort of limit portions. Ate all kinds of extra stuff, etc. And I weighed in this am and lost a pound. I have 4.6 pounds to goal. I've lost 15.4 pounds. So far my husband is the only one that has commented. That seems weird to me.

Pretty much the same here too. I think it's not that other people don't notice, but that they're not comfortable commenting for one reason or another. My boss wouldn't comment in a million years (I think) because she and a co-worker have struggled unsuccessfully with weight for so long. But it is weird. We talk about all kinds of things. When will she say something? When I get to 25 lbs lost? 30? It's kinda a big deal. But then again I'm not mentioning it either.

Single friends have commented, in hilarious ways. I went to a party in my skinny jeans, a tight black top and heels. The kind of outfit I haven't worn in many years. And I tried to look casual and comfortable with it. Which I was, but it's a perspective / identity change for me. Can moms be hot? Can I be a hot mom? A good friend I hadn't seen in a while told me how great I looked:

"Is that a color you don't wear much? It looks great on you!"

Trying to be gracious, I just said, yes, you're right, I should wear black more often. Inside I was thinking, yes, dropping 15 lbs does look good, doesn't it?

At WI last night, I lost 1.2lbs. That's a good sign...just hope I can lose again next week (which as always been the problem, lose one week, gain it back the next).

I'm down 10.5 lbs in 6 weeks. I lost 18 lbs last year that only one person commented on. I've had way more comments on this 10lbs than on the previous 18.

So, yesterday was bad. First, a biggish mother's day brunch. That happens, it wasn't too bad. But the problem was it left me with so few points for the rest of the day. I was tired, crancky, and went out for a greek dinner.

I was just tired of fighting my husband and driving out of my way to find somewhere WW appropriate.

Hopefully the damage isn't too bad. I'm bad on track today.

How do you handle those occasional totally-off-program days? Try to eat as well as you can? Take it in stride? Not sure it was worth it, but it was good. Mmmm, tzasiki!

So I'm tired of the whole WW thing. Mainly tracking. I haven't done it in weeks, but I keep on losing. I try to be careful by limiting portions, only eating healthy foods, etc.

According to my scale I haven't lost any weight this week. I haven't gained any either. I've lost 15 pounds and look good. I'd like to lose 5 more pounds and look great.

Any suggestions on how to get back on "track?" (pun intended.)

Try to chalk it up to being human and don't let it derail you.

Maybe you just used the 35 extra weekly points, so didn't go over?

Thanks ladies. You're right, there are going to be those kinda days. I never really use the 35 points. 35 points probably covered it and then some!

I love gyros. The soft pita, spicy lamb, cool yogurt. Maybe every couple of weeks I'll make a treat of it. Maybe more treats would help keep on track.

What's generally helped me stay on track are the healthy guidelines. MOST days it's easier to stay on program if I remember that I need those 2 points for oil, and another 3 for dairy, need to get those fruits and veggies in, etc. It's really made a difference in how I feel and remembering what I'm doing this for. Most days. . .

Despite another bad day yesterday (the damage from going off program is that it's hard to get back on!) WI went OK. Only up 0.8 lbs! I'm thrilled and motivated by the fact that I don't like the way I feel.

Back to healthy eating this week. Probably.

I'll join in - I'm not nuts about the boards on the WW site.

I've been trying to lose weight since last fall; I've got quite a bit to lose. I tried primal, I tried plain ol' low carbing, I was at the gym every day and nothing really worked. I'm in the middle of my 2nd week on WW (online). I lost almost 4 lbs the first week. I'm pretty sure I'll see good results this week, too. But I am hungry ALL the time. I'm hoping that I won't always be this ravenous. The worst part is right when I get home from work before dinner - what do you guys do for times like this? I think I eat just about another dinner in this time and that's got to stop.

I don't do the low fat/fat free stuff (dairy/cheese, mostly) so I've just not been eating it and I think that has actually helped alot. Which kills me because I LOOOOOOOOVE dairy. I found a wonderful site for ww recipes (Gina's WW Recipes), which is important because I refuse to do any of the processed/frozen meals.

Anyway, here's hoping!

Greenmom, I'm usually pretty hungry before/as I'm cooking dinner too. I don't do the fat free stuff nor processed/frozen and have had great success on WW. Before dinner, sometimes I will sit down and actually eat a "snack"- hummus and pita or carrots, green apple, grapes, any type of fruit really- even banana with a tiny bit of peanut butter. I have found that for me personally on WW, the only way I am not hungry all the time is to really load up on the fruits and vegetables. They make up the bulk of my food.

This was my second week without those 5 nursing points and at the WI last night I lost 3.6lbs! I can't believe it. It was my daughter's b-day over the weekend and I did a lot of frosting making and licking. I am now officially in the 140s. I haven't weighed in the 140s since 2002. I am really in shock over how the WI went last night, I was so sure that I would be UP a few pounds after my party weekend. SundayCrepes- I really feel like you helped me break past that wall that was up at 150. Thank you!!!
