Yes. Not for every BH contraction, but a lot of the time, yes.

I think there's been a thread or two in the May DDC where others have said the same thing.

ETA: I mentioned to my mw and she was not concerned. So I guess it is in the range of normal.

Yes, this is often the first sign I have that I am having one. I get a weird feeling in my chest and then I feel my belly and it is rock hard.

I have low blood pressure. So I thought the weird feelings in my chest, throat and arms were caused by my low blood pressure. I only figured it out 4 weeks ago that the weird feelings coincided with a rock hard belly. I’m 38 weeks and having plenty of Braxton Hicks…I’d say about 75% of them are accompanied by the aforementioned weird feelings. My MW says she’s never heard of it, but doesn’t seem concerned. It could be partly caused by low blood pressure – not sure? But with the muscles contracting the blood flow in the abdomen, it makes sense to feel a little weak, racy.

I know this is an old thread but I totally feel weird sometimes and my heart races and I have shortness of breath! This happens once in awhile with BH for me. I've heard about it but just recently started to feel it. I'm 29 weeks.

well i get short of breath, but it is more like a restrain, or a pull from my diagram. that is how i know i am having one, especially early on in pregnancy.

Yup. During my first pregnancy and before I knew what it was I thought I was having anxiety attacks. But no...it was just the good ole bh.
