So I keep having this weird sensation at my cervix...you know what it feels like?...It's a lot like when you go for a pap and they do the little brush/q-tip thing on the outside of the cervix. Except it's a little more dull than that.

Is this what they call lightening? Or is this just the baby's head or something hitting me there?

I'll be 37 weeks on Sunday. But I'd like for him to stay in a bit longer. I'm still working at school daily and trying to finish something up.

Anyone felt this? Know what it is?

I think that is part of the baby hitting your cervix. My little one likes to "tickle" my cervix all the time with his hands! So weird....

That's what I *think* it is.

I can feel when mine slips a hand up by it's head, sometimes I swear it's scratching at the sac to get out

i think it's lightening. i haven't felt this at all prior to 37 1/2 weeks, so i think baby dropped.

I get this too and did with my other pregnancies. I'm pretty sure it's a combination of baby's head moving around wwaayyy down low, and also the cervix making some changes.

Im getting this too. It's like a stretchy scratchy type feeling. Not exactly painful, but a bit uncomfortable. I've felt this with most all my pregnancies, and only towards the very end. I've got 10 days to go before my "due date". I agree that it's a combination of cervical changes (although Im only 1cm and cervix is still "high" as is babygirl's head so I dont think im changing too much yet) as well as babe activity.

Thanks everyone. I figured it was probably something normal. It's just a new development within the last 24 hours or so.

Yeah. I'd vote for either Baby pressing downward a bit, enough to irritate the cervix lightly and/or the beginnings of cervical dilation and effacement...don't let that freak you out too much though, it doesn't mean you're going to have the baby this week if you have occasional twinges...remember a mama can walk around for weeks up to 3 centimeters dilated!

I have that too now. I figure it is either my cervix changing, or like PP, baby trying to claw out.
