weird pains in breasts

629 Views 8 Replies 6 Participants Last post by  runes
i dont know if this is anything to worry about but i am having small shooting pains in my breasts. nothing earth shattering but still uncomfortable.

i have always felt a bit of pain with letdown (which never comes during nursing for me, but before). this is kind of like that, but in smaller gusts and a bit more concentrated.

anyone else experience this?

i have, recently in fact. thought it came on because of odd nighttime nursing positions. went away after three days.

what type of weird nighttiem nursing did you experience? he is almost 3 months so going through binge nursing.
You're describing the exact symptoms I've experienced with thrush.

I had pain with mild letdown and occassional random mild shooting pains for a few weeks before my nipples broke out.

Whoa! I don't know what happened here!
I used to get those sometimes when dd was littler. I think as long as it doesn't get worse it could be normal.

I don't think it was the length of time, but the position dd was in while latched on, kwim? Like some nerves inside got pulled the wrong direction. But it cleared up on its own quickly.

Me too. We never had thrush or mastis or any other issues, but I did get the sharp pains once in a while. I think it might be normal.
i've had thrush and that is downright PAINFUL, shooting pains that feel like hot shards of glass, it's totally horrible. i don't have it anymore, however, i do get little shooting pains occasionally and they don't feel anything like the pain i had with thrush, so it just might be normal.
