So the last three days I have feeling really faint. I never felt faint before, not even with West. It's like if I stand for too long the room starts to dim and I get really light headed and I must lay down immediately. Which is hard to do with a toddler. I just had on Monday my midwife appt and my blood pressure was 105/75 (good right). In the bouts of faintness I get super sick (vomitting etc) and the other day I threw up so much I thought I was going to have to call my DH home from work to take care of West. I told my midwife about the vomiting, but I didn't mention the faintness because it is such a new sensation that I just thought it was from the vomiting, but today I was super faint without throwing up. The "I am about to faint" feeling is really scary.

I WAS super nauseous (but not vomiting) in the first trimester but by 12 weeks I was completely better, so it has been a month since I've been morning sick. I don't have a fever or cold and my pee in the midwife office came back normal.

And just to throw a loop in things, I woke up today with really bad knee pain. WTF?! Am I broken?

Naseau is definitely pretty normal at any time during pregnancy.
from what i know (this is my first) faintness is also common, i have read this in books and i have a friend who is 2 months ahead of me which is kinda nice. she started felling faint and actually did faint once.
i don't know why it is though or if your knee is related

maybe it is low blood sugar, like when you are not pregnant.

i would definitely call my midwife, that is what they are there for!

feel better mamma, maybe put on a movie for you and the little one to lay and watch together, i know having a toddler must make it that much more difficult.

I've been having faintness off and on too... but I've noticed it's related to my blood sugar for the most part. If I've waited too long to eat, I'm more likely to get faint.

In the 2nd trimester we start to double our blood volume, so our blood pressure can do some wacky things. Yes - the reading you had was totally fine! Also if we're even a bit dehydrated, low blood sugar (as Cristeen said), tiredness, standing up too quick....all those things can cause us to feel dizzy/faint.

I'd mention it to your midwife so she is aware of what's going on, and when you start to feel dizzy/faint get some fluids and food into you and lay down to rest.

I'll echo the others and say that the dizziness is most likely due to sudden change in position, which can cause hypotension (low blood pressure), or low blood sugar. Try snacking more between meals so you have something in your stomach at all times (should help the nausea, too) and see if it has any positive effect on the dizziness. Most of all, I hope you feel better soon!

So I called my midwives and they basically said everything you guys said.

Low blood sugar and low iron (which I was anemic pre-pg), so I am upping my iron and making sure I eat before getting out of bed. My midwife said that if that didn't work she wants me to eat in the middle of the night. I highly doubt I will do that.

Tofutti, I do have hypothyroidism and on my last blood test I my levels were wonderful (better than they ever have been). But I hadn't taken my pill yet when I got faint... and then I had to lay down after that so I was a little late in taking it.

I guess I should read up more on thyroid and pg... do have sources you use?
