Weird vaginal discharge (tmi)

Sorry if this is tmi but I need some advice. A couple weeks ago I got fitted for a diaphragm for us to use in combination with condoms, no spermicidal or anything. So we used it for the first time and a couple days later I start having this blood tinged discharge. It was thin and watery at first and slightly (pink) blood tinged. Over the course of about a week, it's turned more mucous-y and green - it basically looks like snot (told you tmi...). So I went to the doctor and they took a swab and tested for bacteria and it came back negative but I had a super-elevated white blood cell count. So the doc's theory is that I maybe nicked my cervix when I inserted the diaphragm and it's reacting. Her suggestion was to rub some steroidal/hydrocortisone cream on my cervix for a week or so until it gets better. Well, I'm not a fan of steroidal stuff and asked if it might go away on its own and she said it may but if it wasn't gone in about 2 weeks to come back and be tested for other stuff like b strep and whatever else...

So... I didn't get the steroid cream but this is just not getting any better and it's annoying. There are no other symptoms other than the discharge, no itching, burning or anything but the discharge is substantial. Does anyone have any advice for what I could do to help my body heal whatever it may be fighting in there...? I mean white blood cells mean that my body is trying to repair something, right? But it also means that my immune system is working, right? Or should I take something immune boosting? I'm already taking echinacea/golden seal and zinc because I'm fighting off a cold plus eating raw garlic every now and again with my food but what else? Or are there any natural remedies that would mimic a steroidal cream...? I hope someone has some helpful info for me or do you think I should just go back to the doctor? Thanks in advance

well, I have sympathy rather than advice, that would freak me out a bit. It seems like it would be a good idea for you to go to a naturopath or a TCM herbalist, both can be very helpful in healing. It sounds like maybe your body is a bit overwhelmed by it all right now, and I've never found regular doctors to be too useful in getting healthy. TCM herbalists would be my main suggestion, it's powerful stuff. good luck!
what is the name of the cream you were rx'd?
Is going for a 2nd opinion out of the question? I always thought that green/yellow snotty dc would be more bacterial...and even tho they did the culture, maybe they didn't do it right? Just a thought! Course, you would most likely have a smell too...
injury to the cervix? That may explain the blood tinged d/c, but not the greenish goo...hmmm
Wish I could help more!!

Homeopathically speaking, discharges and smells are connected to miasms, not bacteria. There is an underlying weakness before tissue becomes diseased. Bacteria is a product of disease, not the cause of disease. If her miasms are addressed, homeostasis will return. If not, they could remain the same, although you can suppress the discharge and the underlying weaknesses could become a deeper pathology.

Whatever you decide, Mami, please do not take the steroid.

Thanks for all your input. I'm undecided about seeing a naturopath/homeopath only because I would like to see if this resolves on its own... but maybe I should at least get a second opinion. Um... what are 'miasms'... ? Thnx
