Caroline- LOL but its true she is getting up there in age. It seems long at first but by 24 mos they should be full speed ahead. Now that there are some more micros in her row its easy to see how far she has come in 7 weeks. But its hard to explain that to the new parents just like it would have been for me 7 weeks ago.

not a stupid question at all. Most people incl myself are pretty uninformed about preemies until you have one.<br><br>
Lets just say- one more day inside mama is worth a week on the outside in most cases. Usually in the far end of the last trimester- baby can gain a up to a lb a week so MAggie has that much more against here. We were told and now we are living it- premies tend to thrive and really take off around 32 weeks and we are seeing it.

OK- busy busy busy!<br><br>
Maggie has "graduated" to the Feed & Grow Row. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/bouncy.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="bouncy"><br><br>
She still is getting an antibiotic for another day but she is in a crib not an isolette and if OFF the oxygen!!! <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/lol.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="lol"> I cannot wait to abdon the crib for our cosleeper in a few weeks.<br><br>
She is nursing on me at least once a day but I am hoping to bump that up. She still has an NG tube for feedings which contain breastmilk, fortifier and some special formula. The Dr is trying to tell me she needs that for 6 months to grow which I think is BS. When they give her that concoction in a bottle she is grossed out by it. But some of the more AP style nurses say- you will do what you think is best when home. I post on the LLL new forums and some mamas did the same thing I plan on doing so we will take it day by day.<br>
Besides she is a nursing champ and does real well so I do not see any obstacles but we will see!

Soooo...<br><br>
The Nicu is full full full. They had a Baby Bamn!! this weekend with 2 sets of twins on Friday and a set of triplets on Saturday morning. Then another set of twins that afternoon and then 4 more babies. Plus 2 sets of twins on Monday and the other babies coming in. they closed the transport and denied babies today that went some where else. But since Maggie is in the Feed and Grow and is quite stable- she is being sent back to our local hospital where DH is on staff and is right by his office and closer to our home. But still the same Drs so we are thrilled.<br><br>
Must be a full moon. When I checked the boards on Mon and saw all those babies arriving I thought of that.

Yes crazy. All the triplets are on the vent and the twins from friday as well. But they are all micros. Actually I spent the weekend surronded by them and all that was happening. Since I had a micro myself I know the routine and what can and did go wrong plus the hell the parents were going thru. I knew MAggie was going to be moved but not when. By Sunday afternoon I was a bit loopy having to watch not 1 micro (like I did when Maggie was born) but 6 going thru all this I begged to move but it was already in place.<br><br>
But because of HIPPa, no one knows what is going on unless the parents tell you. Thats where nicu gossip comes in. I will miss all the parents and their babies since we all adopt each others babies and you cry and rejoice right along with them. I knew I would miss a few by their schedules so I put notes on their isolettes today.
