Howdy Ladies!

I haven't lurked around here before today, but I'm so happy to have finally found a no-vax friendly area on the interwebs.. (since I certainly don't have one to hang out in in real life).

Here's a bit of a fantastic and happy story!!

We were driving to the farmers market a couple of weekends ago (nearest town) and passed by a HUGE sign that said "FREE FLU SHOT CLINIC, BRING IN YOUR KIDS, YOUR PARENTS, YOURSELVES.. TODAY!".. now, I'm the advocate in this family, where DP is the one who will back me up and believe in most of what I spout for reasoning. But.. when he saw the sign.. he laughed out loud! A hearty, heart-warming laugh.. and said "Heeeeeyyyyy Honey.. how about we all go get ourselves a FLUUUUU-shot to start off the day!!!!" ever-so-sarcastically... "maybe it's like an espresso shot!!".. I loved it. This perfect moment of clarity and togetherness.. while a 7 month old unvaxed DS giggled in the back seat at our laughter.

I love that! I remember the moment my dh (who tests drugs for big pharma; needless to say it was not easy to convince him that no-vax was for us) proudly told someone he works with that we don't vax. I tend to keep it on the DL but he very calmly explained why and addressed every objection calmly and logically (and scientifically). I was so proud and happy!

We, too, laugh at all the flu shot signs on the sides of the roads. They are everywhere here. You can get a flu shot in every grocery store pharmacy in our town.

Love Halifax, btw! DH's people are Cape Bretoner's and we find ourselves down that way now and again, most recently last August. Had a blast!

Welcome to MDC!

I, too, was the no vax initiator in our house. My DH is really behind it now. He tells everyone - especially men he knows who are expecting a baby. I am very proud of him.

I love PEI too! On the same trip last summer we spent 7 days near Cavendish. Whenever we go down east we always fantasize about how we could figure out a way to live there!
