(Because I know how much you all love to hear me whine.)

Thanks to permanent pelvic damage from stupid doctors who put me in the lithotomy position with SPD, I now have full blown Diastasis Symphysis Pubis. Its starting to tear so I have to be super careful and may end up in a wheelchair soon. Because of this I am now the proud owner of a little blue handicapped card to hand in my window. I actually am feeling pretty guilty about this. I feel like I'm not really handicapped like people with permantent disabilities, but at the same time I can barely walk anymore and the pain is unbearable.

Oh, that hurts. They almost sent me home with a cane and a handicapped pass after I had DS because I couldn't walk due to pubic pain, but something magically slipped back into place right before I was discharged and the pain almost completely subsided -- I hope something similar happens to you!

Heh, around here, the blue ones are permanent; they give you a red one if it's temporary ;-). Those are good for up to six months, but are renewable with a new form from the doctor's office. I've had them twice after knee surgery.

Good luck! I hope that it doesn't get any worse!

I think it's set up that way -- the last month or two has to be awful so that during labor you're extra motivated to get the thing OUT!!!

they don't give those out to all of us either you have to have mobility issues, they often give them out to people who have had surgery or severe leg fractures knowing they will need them for a few months at most. People with disabilities won't look at you funny, we all don't look 'handicapped' on the outside either ....
